It was a victory for West Indies in the second game of the series and helped them win the series 2-0 with one game to go. The victory was the first ever series victory for the side in 5 years and it would mean a lot for the camp. Afghanistan on the other hand let go off the West Indies for the second consecutive time in the series. They had their moments in the last game but failed to capitalize on those leading to their defeat. It will be a big challenge for Afghanistan to recover from the two consecutive losses as they haven’t played well as a unit so far. The fact that the team has lost its last eleven games puts more pressure on the side. It remains to be seen how the Afghan boys play in the next game as it will require a show of great character to win here.

Rashid Khan would be very upset with the way his side played in the last game. They had tied down the West Indians before the 40th over and allowed them to cut loose from there. While batting the side again failed to build partnerships and now they have to play for pride and Rashid would be hoping to see better efforts from his team in the last game. They failed to bat as a unit and build partnerships in the last game. Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zardan and Mohammad Nabi did get starts but there was no big partnership that cost them the game.
In both the games problems have been similar for the side and as they play the last game of the series they will need to focus on partnerships and see more runs from the likes of Ikram Ali Khan, Javed Ahmed at the top and Asghar Afghan.
The bowling attack did well at the start where Mujeeb ur Rahman and Naveen-ul-Haq kept things tight in the game. While all the bowlers bowled with good economy rates they were wayward towards the end of the innings. Rashid Khan hasn’t been the threat he was supposed to be. The attack still looks decent with Sharafuddin Ashraf and Mohammad Nabi bowling tight spells.

Kieron Pollard would have relished the series victory as the side has waited for a long time for this. He would now focus on whitewashing the Afghan side which would be the perfect icing on the cake for a side that doesn’t have the best of records in this format of the game for almost a decade.
Shai Hope’s love with Indian tracks is continuing and he has done well in both the games. Evin Lewis also played well and Nicholas Pooran delivered the killer blow to Afghanistan in the death overs. Roston Chase hero of the first game missed out in the last game and shall look to do well in the next one. Pollard and Shimron Hetmyer haven’t had a great series so far and they will look to change that in the next game.
The bowling was brilliant in last game bowling with dew on the surface especially Sheldon Cottrell and Roston Chase sharing 6 wickets between them. Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph were economical in the game as well. With Hayden Walsh troubling the batsmen with his guile they look a good attack going into the next game.

There would be those odd clouds at Lucknow on November 11 and dew towards the second innings. The two paced nature of the surface is expected to pose some challenge to the batsmen. It is not a track for hard hitting but more so of run accumulation and any score in the range of 280 runs would be competitive here.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow is a good pitch for the batsmen. Once they get their eyes set they can score easily on this surface. Spinners have done well on this track where there isn’t much for the fast bowlers once the ball loses its shine.
In both the games played so far at this venue we have seen dew make it difficult to bowl during the second innings. Bowlers have done well with the new ball in the afternoon and hence we expect the side winning the toss to bowl first on this track and chase under lights.
It has been a one-sided series so far where Afghanistan hasn’t been able to match up to the challenge thrown at them by West Indies team. They have lost key moments in both the games which have ultimately led to their loss. The threat of a series whitewash hangs over their shoulders. West Indies has looked the better of the two teams and this would make them favorites in the next game and to take the series 3-0.
