All is not lost for Adelaide Strikers as they still have plenty of opportunities to make way into the knockout stages of BBL 2019-20. Skipper Travis Head has joined the team in place of vice-captain Alex Carey who departs due to international commitments. Although the team has lost three matches in a row, they still could be backed to come up with an impressive show in the coming game.
On the other hand, Melbourne Renegades who are now officially out of the race to knockouts would look to deploy a change in their tactics for the remaining league matches. Afghani all-rounder Mohammad Nabi is back into the squad and is a sure shot inclusion into the Renegades lineup for the coming contest. Perhaps, his addition could change the fortunes for the defending champions who have lost seven matches in a row and are playing hard to score their first win of the season.

With Alex Carey missing out on a few games, the likes of Jake Weatherald (266 runs in 7 innings) and Jonathan Wells (234 runs in 7 innings) would now carry the onus of scoring the bulk of runs in the much-anticipated clash in Adelaide. Weatherald was in good nick in the recent outing against Sydney Sixers wherein he scored 31-ball 47.
Skipper Travis Head could be the x-factor in the coming game taking into account his performance in 37 BBL matches wherein he has aggregated 1,051 runs at an average of 32.84 including a century and seven half-centuries.
Rashid Khan (12 wickets in 7 innings) has wreaked havoc with the ball and has delivered explosive cameos with the bat in the last two matches. Paceman Peter Siddle (7 wickets in 6 innings) has been effective in the death overs and alongside Michael Neser and Billy Stanlake will look to wipe out the opposition’s tail-end.
Michael Neser, Harry Conway, Philip Salt, Matthew Short, WA Agar, Harry Nielsen, Jake Weatherald, Peter Siddle, Rashid Khan, TM Head, JW Wells
Shaun Marsh (298 runs in 8 innings) and Beau Webster (261 runs in 8 innings) have been the leading run-scorers for the Renegades this season. In fact, the duo performed decently in the recent match against Melbourne Stars with Marsh scoring 43-ball 63 and Webster scoring 15-ball 25.
Opener Marcus Harris notched 42 off 32 deliveries in the previous outing and will look to take on the rival attack with ease. Wicket-keeper Sam Harper (195 runs in 8 innings) has rendered matured performances so far and is likely to exhibit a stupendous show at Adelaide.
Afghani all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has scalped 250 wickets in 249 T20s and could be the vital cog for the Men in Red in the upcoming duel. The likes of Samit Patel and Joe Mennie were a bit expensive in the previous outing and will look to better themselves versus Strikers.

A bright and sunny day awaits both the team with the temperature in the low 20s. Complete 40-overs of entertainment is likely on cards at Adelaide Oval. Scores as high as 190 have been chased and with clean strikers on both sides, one could get a chance to witness the same.
Bowlers will look to capitalize on the pace and bounce offered but it is the batsmen who are likely to dominate this time as well. Any score above 180 would be a par total at this venue. All in all, a belter of a contest could be anticipated in the upcoming game.
The toss winning team should look to bowl first on this occasion. The wicket at Adelaide Oval offers excellent conditions for the batters throughout with 165 being the average first innings total in the T20s.
Adelaide Strikers would be the favorites for the coming contest compared to Melbourne Renegades who neither have the match winners nor the momentum to dominate the Strikers at their own turf. Strikers are fortunate in this sense to possess some of the finest T20 cricketers intact in their team, plus the inclusion of Travis Head furthermore cements their chance of being the victorious side at Adelaide Oval.
