This is the first T20I from the series which will be going to play at Manuka Oval. Team India will be playing their first T20I match since March 2020. This T20 series is important for both teams on the background of the T20 WorldCup which will be going to play in India next year.
Currently, Australia ranked 1st in the ICC T20 ranking and have many power hitters in their squad. India placed at 3rd in the list and will be trying to win the series to improve ranking. Both teams suffered big blows as David Warner for Australia and Rohit Sharma for India, both were injured and out of the series due to injury.
This match and ultimately the T20 series will be going to help both teams to try and prefer their best eleven for their upcoming T20 World Cup squad and both teams will look forward to winning this 1st T20 on Friday at Manuka Oval.

The Australian side is one of the strongest sides to beat in T20 games. They have a perfect unit and they will be going to show that teamwork in this first match of the series also. In the last T20 series in India, they managed to beat India and showed dominance to whitewash India. Glenn Maxwell was the key player in that series who scored 169 runs in 2 innings only. Maxwell was not on the mark in IPL 2020 but he delivered fine innings in the ODI series. David Warner who played some brilliant knocks in IPL season this year will be going to miss this series because of injury. Pat Cummins also rested in this series which will be a major setback to a team.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is struggling to find a form and whole responsibility will be on Josh Hazelwood who had a perfect ODI series against India. Australian pacers perfectly used a bouncer as their weapon in ODI series and they will look forward to using that in T20 series also.
Fielding remains the key for this Australian side and they have worked hard on this which will help them to restrict India's quick running between the wickets. Overall they have managed to build a perfect squad and they will be looking forward to carrying that winning momentum of the ODI series in T20s also.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, India will be going to play the first T20I at Manuka Oval. Indian players were in good form in the whole IPL and that may help them in this T20 series against Australia. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan had a wonderful IPL season and was the 2nd highest run-scorer in IPL this year. Similarly, KL Rahul was the leading run-scorer in the IPL. India's opening pair is yet to be decided in the absence of Rohit Sharma. In the middle order, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer will be the key players to watch out for. Hardik Pandya is back in bowling action in the ODI series and his power-hitting abolition batting will be going to test his all-rounder role with Ravindra Jadeja.
India's bowling is not yet on the mark as they lack in the wicket-taking ability in ODI series. Jasprit Bumrah who was the 2nd highest wicket-taker bowler in the IPL 2020, is in search of his form in this tour. Yorker king T. Natarajan who bowled the most number of workers in the IPL tournament will be going to play a key role in India's bowling unit. \
This T20 series offers a good chance to adjust all issues and fix a perfect unit for the upcoming T20 world cup and India will be looking eager to grab that chance in this tour. With the win in the last ODI, India would take some confidence into the T20Is.

The 1st T20I of the series will be playing at Manuka Oval. This ground conducted just 1 T20I till now, before this series’s match. The ground has a capacity of 12,000 people.
In the last T20I encounter at this ground, the pitch offered an advantage for the bowlers as well as batsmen and the team bowling first has won the match played at the ground. The pitch will be easy to play while chasing.
The team winning the toss should look to the field first here.
Both sides have a power-packed lineup and both teams are going through good form. But the Indian side has been in superb form when it comes to a case of limited-overs format. By looking at the form in the IPL and taking into account a few injury concerns, India have a slight edge over the Australian side in T20s.
We predict that India will come victorious against Australia.
