This is the first International series for the team India after the pandemic while Australia had played against England in between. India is looking forward to get back on track with a series win but Australia is a tough challenge to beat in their home conditions.
India had already suffered from the big blow of Rohit Sharma who will not be a part of the ODI team because of injury. Both teams like to get the winning momentum back with them when they face each other at Sydney on Wednesday.
In Australia’s previous tour of India, Steve Smith was in splendid form and scored 229 runs in 2 matches at an average of 114.50. For India, Virat Kohli had scored 183 runs from 3 innings at an average of 61 and Rohit Sharma had scored 171 runs from 3 innings. In the bowling department, India’s Mohammed Shami had taken 7 wickets while for Australia spinner Adam Zampa had taken 5 wickets in 3 matches. It will be interesting to see how these two high voltage sides with ODI specialist players fare against each other in the first encounter of the series.

Australia is looking forward to taking revenge against India in the ODI series after losing the series against them in India. Many Australian players were in good form during IPL 2020 and are trying to maintain that great form on the sight of India tour of Australia.
David Warner had scored decent runs on the board while playing for SRH in IPL 2020. Similarly, Marcus Stonis did a superb all rounding job in IPL and scored 300 plus runs with more than 10 wickets also. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne will be the key players for Australia in the middle order. Steve Smith was the leading run-scorer in the previous series against India and scored 229 runs from 2 matches only.
In the bowling unit, Adam Zampa had done a brilliant job against India in all formats and will be the key player in this series. He had taken 5 wickets from 3 matches in the previous meet. Aussies’ pace attack with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood will try to hammer down Indian batsmen and the bounce will be going to play a crucial role in this series. Team Australia is a well-managed unit in all fields and will try to defeat India in the limited over format at home conditions.
Key players: David Warner, Steve Smith, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc
Aaron Finch, Marnus Labuschagne, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Alex Carey, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, Marcus Stoinis, Steven Smith, David Warner, Adam Zampa
Team India is back on international duty after IPL 2020 and looking forward to showing dominance again on the field. Indian players had a wonderful IPL season and many players are in good form. Despite the injury concern of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma, India is a well-set unit in all departments and they are going to play their first ODI on Friday. KL Rahul had performed consistently in IPL and was also a leading run-scorer. He is in good form and will help India to put more runs on the board. Shikhar Dhawan also had a perfect IPL season and placed himself at the 2nd spot in the list of highest run-scorers in IPL.
In the middle order along with captain Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer is going to play a huge role for the team. Shreyas Iyer had shown a class performance in IPL 2020. Hardik Pandya is back in the unit after injury and will play along with Ravindra Jadeja as an all-rounder.
In Australia’s tour of India (in 2019-20), India’s middle-order struggled a lot against the Aussies pace attack. Virat Kohli managed to lead the side and remained the top scorer with 183 runs for the team in 3 match series. In the bowling unit, only Mohammed Shami managed to take 7 wickets from the 3 matches but no other bowler had helped Shami to finish the job. Now, in Australian pitches, the bounce will play a crucial role and again team India needs Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah's unit to take over the job.
Key players: KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami
YS Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Lokesh Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, NA Saini, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami

The weather will be partly cloudy and there is a 5-10% chance of precipitation on the match day. Average temperature ranging from a high of 24°C to a low of 21°C.
The first match of the series is going to play at Sydney Cricket Ground, Stadium that has a limited viewers capacity of around 40,000 and there are high chances to have a full house show. The ground also has high scoring pitches which may turn the first match into a high scoring thriller.
In the last 5 ODI encounters at this ground, the pitch offers a huge advantage for the batsmen and the team batting first has won all these matches played at the ground. The team who will bat first needs to put a high score on the board to restrict it. The team winning the toss should look to bat first here.
Both sides have a power-packed lineup and both teams are going through good form. India is going to play its first international match after such a long gap. Australia has a slight edge over India because of the home conditions, and pace attack they have.
We predict that Australia will come victorious against India.
