It was an escape for the Pakistani side in the first game of the three-match series as the rain came to their rescue when they looked all set for a loss. The Australian camp would have been very upset after the start David Warner had given them in a rain-reduced game. With the series now wide open Australia would like to win the next game and take an unassailable lead in the series.
The next game at Canberra would be a big test for the Pakistani players. In the last game their bowlers were put to task and failed in the few overs they bowled before the rains. It would be a huge challenge for the bowling attack given the form the Australian players have been this summer. Pakistanis are known to play well when pushed against the wall and it would be a big test for the side in the next game.

11 balls are what was required to be bowled for Australia to win the first game and Aaron Finch would be very upset with the way rain denied them a win. His side played well both with the bat and the ball and the skipper would now want them to leave this upset behind and focus on the next game.
The Australian team is looking good at the top with openers David Warner and Aaron Finch in sublime form with the bat. Steven Smith’s form adds to the strength of the batting. The likes of Ben McDermott, Aston Turner and Alex Carey haven’t had a great deal to do this summer and would be looking to grab their chances with both hands in the next game.
Their bowlers have been in top form so far in the season with Mitchell Starc and Kane Richardson doing well with the new ball. Pat Cummins has been in a great rhythm and poses a big challenge for the Pakistanis. Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar will look to keep the line tight during the middle overs.

Babar Azam would have been happy seeing the weather gods come to the rescue of his side in the last game. They didn’t play all that badly and looked set for a big score till the rains came in. Bowling was definitely off the mark and this is one area that the side will have to work on going into the next game. Babar Azam played well in the last game and so did Mohammad Rizwan.
The side would look for a better start from Fakhar Zaman as he will have to play an important role in the game. The likes of Haris Sohail, Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali have to bat well in the middle order given the kind of strength Australia has in its batting. The bowling attack was split apart in the last game. Mohammad Irfan will have to bowl tighter lines with the new ball. Mohammad Amir will need to pick wickets with the new ball and expect Wahab Riaz to use his experience. Iman Wasim and Shadab Khan will need to bowl well on a wicket which isn’t likely to offer them much assistance.

There would be slight cloud cover at Canberra on the 5th of November and the conditions would be good for batting. The ball is likely to move on during the second innings as the game progresses. The side that bats first would look to score in excess of 160 runs to put pressure on the opposition.
Manuka Oval, Canberra is a small ground with shorter square boundaries and this allows batsmen to hit through the air. The fast bowlers get some assistance off the surface with the new ball but the track is a flat one. Spinners have a tough time bowling on this surface where the ball doesn’t grip much on the surface.
The wicket would be a good one to bat on in the early overs and as the evening progresses the ball is likely to move in the air. The side that wins the toss would like to bat first on this surface and put up a big score for the opposition.
It was a lucky escape for the Pakistanis in the first game as the Australian side dominated the proceedings for most parts of the game. The Pakistani team would have to fix issues with its batting and bowling going into this game. The Australian side is known to play hard cricket and with the brilliant start that they have got to the summer they would start as overwhelming favorites to win this one.
