There were no surprises in the Test Match at the Gabba as the Australian team dominated the entire course of the game to register a convincing victory by an innings and 5 runs. It was a poor show with the bat from the Pakistani side and their bowlers allowed the Australians to pose a huge total on the board.
The hosts dominated in every aspect of the game to earn a thumping victory which would have surely demoralized the Pakistani camp.
Pakistan has had a poor record in Australia and has lost the last 13 games they have played with their last win coming back in 1995 when many of the players on the two sides weren’t even born. It will take an out of world performance for the Pakistanis to win the next game. They have to bat well and their bowlers will need to bowl exceptionally to run through the Australian line-up twice in the game.

Tim Paine couldn’t have counted any negatives from the last game as it was a completely dominating performance from his team. Bowlers were on the money and batsmen were exceptionally brilliant in the game. Paine would want these players to continue with the same form as they go on to play the next game.
Australia’s batting line-up dominated in the last game with openers David Warner and Joe Burns along with Marnus Labuschagne scoring 430 runs in the last game. They will pose a challenge to the Pakistani bowlers. Steven Smith had a bad outing in the last game and shall look to do well in the next one. With Matthew Wade, Tim Paine and Travis Head in the line-up, batting looks strong for the side going into the next game.
In the bowling department the pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood had an incredible outing in the last game and troubled the Pakistani batting picking 18 wickets between them. They will play a key role in the side in the next game. Nathan Lyon and Labuschagne are doing well with the old ball and this makes the bowling attack tough to negotiate in the next game.

It will take a lot of motivation to overcome the thrashing they received in the last game. Apart from some fight back in the second innings, the side was completely outplayed in the game. They will need to come out of this shell to do well in the next game.
Their bowlers will need to deliver the goods for the side to challenge the Australians. Shan Masood and Azhar Ali will have to provide the side with a good start which they failed to do in the last game. In the middle order, Haris Sohail needs to deliver after the failure in the last game.
Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq are playing well and would be expected to continue with their good form going into the next game. Mohammad Rizwan adds to the batting strength of the side down the order. It was their bowling that let them down in the last game and the side would expect the new ball pair of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Abbas to pick early wickets. Abbas who missed the last game is expected to play this one. Yashir Shah will have to make good use of the conditions in the next game and want good support from Naseem Shah and Sohail.

It will be slightly cloudy at Adelaide on the first two days of the game with rains expected in the latter half of the game. The wicket would be a good one to bat on in the first two days and once the rains come in the fast bowlers would enjoy bowling on this surface. Batsmen will have to focus on building partnerships at this ground.
The pitch at Adelaide Oval is one of the best batting surfaces in Australia where the ball comes onto the bat nicely and the bounce is less as compared to some of the other wickets in the country. Fast bowlers have done well on this surface and the spinners too have grabbed their wickets as the pitch starts to wear down.
In the last 10 Test Matches played at the venue the team batting first has won on seven occasions. The pitch is good to bat in the first innings and become difficult as the game progresses. We expect the side winning the toss to opt for batting keeping the rain factor from Day 3 in mind.
Australian team looks very strong at the moment and their performance since the start of the summer has reminded of their dominance up until a few years ago.
Pakistan, on the other hand, is a team in transition and they are finding it hard to match up to the challenge that is being thrown in by the hosts.
Given the kind of form we saw from the Australians in the last game, they would start as outright favorites to win the next game.
