Captain Sophie Devine will be hoping that the side can put on a decent show with bat and ball. The visitors will be looking to continue their excellent form in the T20 format after their emphatic home series win against South Africa earlier this year.
In the batting department, the side will be depending on the experienced trio of Suzie Bates, Amy Satterthwaite and Sophie Devine to deliver the bulk of the runs in this contest.
All-rounder Sophie Devine was the standout performer with bat and ball in the previous T20I series played against South Africa at home.
Since September 2019, Sophie Devine has been leading run-scorer for New Zealand in the T20 format. In eight matches played, Sophie Devine has accumulated 429 runs at an average of 71.50 with one century and four half-centuries to her name.
Besides Devine, Suzie Bates, Maddy Green and Amy Satterthwaite will be looking to contribute with the bat in this opening game of the T20I series.
