In the 4th match of the on-going T20 tri-series in Bangladesh, the hosts would take on Zimbabwe at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
Zimbabwe has had a bad run so far in the series and has lost both its games so far. As they head into this game pressure would be on them to win this one and remain in the hunt for a place in the finals. Bangladesh also comes into this game after suffering a defeat at the hands of Afghanistan.
In the earlier game between the two sides, Bangladesh had won the game convincingly by 3 wickets after Zimbabwe had blasted through their top order. Having lost both the games so far the Zimbabwean side will need to make a strong comeback in the next game. It will be interesting to see how they play the Bangladeshi spinners in the next game.

It was a below-par performance from Shakib Al Hasan’s side in the last game that saw them go down against Afghanistan. They had done well with the ball but their batsmen just failed to deliver on a good wicket. Shakib would want his side to put behind that loss and start positively in the next game. A win here would secure them a place in the final.
The opening combination of Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim has failed in both the games and will need to provide their side a good start. Shakib too hasn’t done well and shall need to fire. Mahmudullah, Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman shall look to do well in the next game as all of them have already shined in the series. Mosaddek Hossain has also looked good with the bat down the order.
Shakib Al Hasan has been brilliant with the ball so far. Mohammad Saifuddin has also bowled well though he has been a bit expensive. The side will need a good show from Mustafizur Rahman with the new ball and he needs to pick wickets early. Taijul Islam and Soumya Sarkar will need to check the scoring rate of their opponents in the next game.

Hamilton Masakadza’s side has failed in both the games they have played so far in the series. If it was their batting that was found wanting in the first game their bowlers had a bad one against Afghanistan in the last game. The side is now in a must-win situation and Masakadza will want them to play their best game to win the next one.
Their batting line-up of Brendan Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza shall need to deliver in this game. Craig Ervine and Sean Williams who haven’t done well so far will need to put a price on their wickets in the next game. Ryan Burl, Tinotenda Mutombodzi and Regis Chakabva have done well lower down the order so far and shall look to carry on with the same form.
The bowling attack looks good with Tendai Chatara and Kyle Jarvis being in a great form at the moment. Sean Williams has also bowled well so far in the series and shall look to continue with the same kind of form. Neville Madziva, Ainsley Ndlovu and Ryan Burl need to provide good support and keep the flow of runs in check.

The skies would be clear during the game and the conditions are expected to be humid at Chattogram. This will be the first game of this series at this venue and the fresh wicket is expected to offer some assistance to the fast bowlers. It will still be a good wicket to bat on and team scoring 160 runs should feel confident.
VENUE
Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram has a history of leveling it out between the batsmen and the bowlers. There is assistance for the fast bowlers and spinners but at the same time, batsmen sticking their ground on this wicket have also done well so far. The average first innings score of 143 runs shows the level of competition between the bat and the ball.
Win Toss, Bowl First!
The pitch is expected to offer assistance to the bowlers in the early overs as many games haven’t been played on this venue for a while. The conditions might become difficult to bowl in the second innings and hence the side winning the toss is most likely to invite the opposition on to the bat.
Bangladesh comes into this game after a heavy defeat against Afghanistan. Their batting in the two games so far has lacked application especially from their top order which is struggling at the moment. The story has been far worse for Zimbabwe as they have lost both their games in the series and shall have to win this one to keep their hopes alive for the tournament. As form stands for the two teams we expect Bangladesh to start in the driver’s seat in the next game.
