Following a nail-biting win over Sydney Thunder in the recent outing, Melbourne Renegades would be beaming with confidence as they take on the Heat in their first faceoff of the season. With literally nothing to lose at this juncture of the tournament, the Renegades would look to play freely in the remaining games and end the BBL 2019-20 on a winning note.
Meanwhile, Brisbane Heat has had a rollercoaster ride so far and need three more wins in the remaining four matches in order to seal a spot in the knockouts. The Lynn-led side suffered a 10-wicket defeat in the recent match against Strikers and thus are seated at the fifth spot with 5 wins and as many losses in 14 matches played so far. Although the current edition of BBL offers five teams to compete in the knockouts, it is always an advantage to gain as many triumphs under the belt.

Skipper Chris Lynn (291 runs in 10 innings) and Matt Renshaw (261 runs in 10 innings) would be the go-to men for the Heat in the much-coveted encounter. Renshaw (31-ball 43) was the highest run-getter in the recently concluded match against Adelaide Strikers and will be banked to come up with impressive numbers in the coming feud.
All-rounder Ben Cutting can be an absolute match-winner, and along with Max Bryant would be one of the vital cogs for the Heat in the forthcoming duel.
In the bowling department, Ben Laughlin and Mitchell Swepson have been highly influential in the opportunities received so far and will look to dominate the rival lineup amidst the home conditions. Spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman was a bit expensive in the previous match and along with pacer Josh Lalor would look to come up with impressive numbers at the Gabba.

The Men in Red would be heavily reliant on the duo of Shaun Marsh and Marcus Harris for getting their team off to a stellar start at the Gabba. Marsh’s performance would be of utmost concern as he has been the leading run-getter for their side in BBL 2019-20 with 366 runs in 10 outings at an average of 36.60. The southpaw was in a good nick in the previous outing as he scored a 34-ball 47 comprising 6-fours and a six.
Sam Harper (252 runs in 10 innings) and Beau Webster (318 runs in 10 innings) have had a decent run this season and along with Marsh would carry the onus of scoring the chunk of runs in the coming duel. In the middle order, Daniel Christian can unleash mayhem once set, making him one of the key players to watch out for.
Bowling wise, the likes of Samit Patel and Jack Wildermuth have been economical so far and along with Afghani spinner, Mohammad Nabi would look to stop the outflow of runs. Cameron Boyce is an experienced T20 campaigner and will be banked to scalp a wicket or two at the Gabba.

There will be heavy showers in the daytime which might make the wicket damp before the commencement of the game. Any scoreline close to 150 would be a par score at this venue.
Rains will surely affect the gameplay in the coming game and thus, the batters should look to go berserk from the minute they are in the middle. Bowlers, especially pacers, will have some advantage with the overcast conditions prevalent at the Gabba.

The toss winning team should look to bat first on this occasion. High chances of rain to play a spoilsport in the second innings. Sure shot chances for DLS method to come into play offering revised targets for the team batting second, in case the match resumes.
Surprisingly, Melbourne Renegades could be backed as the favorites for the coming game. The Men in Red hold phenomenal record against the Heat in BBL both in overall head to head and the venue faceoffs, and riding on the sensational form of Shaun Marsh, Beau Webster, and Sam Harper would be the dominant side over Lynn & Co.
We are expecting Melbourne Renegades to win!
