It was just the wrong day for Brisbane Heat in the first game against Sydney Thunder where they went down by 29 runs. Skipper Chris Lynn will like to put that behind and take confidence from the fact that his side has a good record against the Melbourne Stars over the last few seasons. It was a failure on part of their batsmen in the last game as none of them were able to convert their starts. The side will need a good show from Tom Banton and Max Bryant at the top.

The side doesn't have the best of records against Brisbane Heat and will look to turn it around in this game. Seb Gotch down the order is known for his power hitting. They will look to get going in style in this game given their skills and hitting abilities. They have a good bowling attack going into this game starting with Dale Steyn and Daniel Worrall sharing the new ball for the side.
They will look to pick early wickets in the game. In Sandeep Lamichhane and Adam Zampa they have a lethal spin combination. With Stoinis in the side, the bowling attack looks strong ahead of the game.

The skies over Queensland will be clear on December 20 and the temperature would be comfortable. The pitch is likely to be a good surface to bat on where the batsmen will be able to hit through the line.
