It is the 18th game of the Big Bash League and the first for year where Brisbane Heat would take on Perth Scorchers at Carrara Oval, Queensland.
The hosts BH are coming into this game after a big victory in their last game against the Sydney Sixers and this would add to their confidence. As for the Perth Scorchers, the season has been bad so far and they have lost three out of their four games.
The problem for the Perth Scorchers is their extended run of bad play since last season where they have managed to win just 5 out of their 18 games. They have failed to seal the important moments in most of their games so far and suffered big defeats. Going into the next game the side will have to play extremely well to defeat Heat which looks in great form at the moment.

Chris Lynn would be a relieved man after his side ended the losing spree of two games registering a massive 48 run win the last game against Sydney Sixers. With the batting in good form and playing at home, the side will start confidently in the next game. Chris Lynn played a blinder in the last game to earn his side’s win and his form gives the side a lot of confidence.
Matt Renshaw and Jimmy Peirson also did well in the last game. The side will, however, look for a better show from their openers Tom Banton and Max Bryant. Down the order, they have a good hitter in Ben Cutting and he will look to do well in the next game.
In the bowling department, Matt Renshaw and Mitchell Swepson are in good form with the ball and they will look to check the flow of runs. Josh Lalor has done well and will be targeting early wickets. The side has good depth in its bowling with bowlers like Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan and Ben Cutting in the setup.
Ben Cutting, Zahir Khan, Ben Laughlin, Sam Heazlett, Matt Renshaw, Chris Lynn, Josh Lalor, Mark Steketee, Jimmy Peirson, Max Bryant, Tom Banton

Mitchell Marsh’s side has so far struggled in the series and after four games they have managed only a single win. They lost to Sydney Sixers in the last game by 48 runs and have to win the next one to move up on the points table. They are up against a tough opponent and have to play well to win this game.
Liam Livingstone and Josh Inglis have played few good knocks in the tournament and shall look to do well in the next game. The likes of Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, and Cameron Green haven’t done well in the season and they need fire in this game for the side to win.
Down the order, the likes of Ashton Turner and Ashton Agar will need to fire which hasn’t happened for the team so far.
Bowling wise Chris Jordan has been shining in most games and the side will need a good performance from his end. Matthew Kelly and Jhye Richardson aren’t in the best of form and the side would need a good show from them with the new ball. In the middle overs, Fawad Ahmed and Ashton Agar will have to keep the run rate under control.
AJ Turner, Matthew Kelly, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Agar, Fawad Ahmed, Liam Livingstone, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, CT Bancroft
There would be odd clouds over Queensland on the day of the game and the temperature is expected to be high. The pitch is expected to be a good one to bat on where the ball would come onto the bat. The side that bats first will have to eye a total in excess of 180 runs to feel safe on this track.
Carrara Oval, Queensland is a small venue in comparison to the bigger Australian grounds and this makes it a favorite with the batsmen who can hit big shots at will. There is some help for the fast bowlers early in the game when the ball moves around a bit. Spinners have to fight hard to do well on this wicket.

In the two games played so far at this venue, the sides batting first have won on both occasions. The pitch has been a good one to bat on and we have seen two high scoring encounters. We expect the captain winning the toss to choose to bat and aim at a big score on the board.
Brisbane Heat has gained good form since the last game and as they play the next one against the Perth Scorchers they would be looking to win it and move up on the points table. As or the Perth Scorchers the season has all been about struggle and the side looks to be low on confidence at the moment. Going into this game the Brisbane Heat would start as favorites having a stronger batting line-up.
