CRICBETTINGBUZZ PREDICTION: Bijapur Bulls to win!
T&Cs apply, 18+
Two teams with no win in this edition of the tournament will look to get their campaign back on track with a win in this game. The defending champions Bijapur Bulls had to settle for a solitary point in their first game against the Bengaluru Blasters while they were handed a comprehensive defeat by Bellari Tuskers in their second match. The Mysuru Warriors, on the other hand, have had two of their games affected by rain and one loss and have two points. Both teams will come into this game with an intention to pick up the first win in this tournament.
Both teams have had one of their openers perform splendidly but the others in the batting lineup have not provided adequate support. KV Siddharth for the Mysuru Warriors and Bharath Chipli for the Bijapur Bulls have had to solely fight for their team watching the other batsmen not capitalize on their starts.

The defending champions have not had a great start to the tournament having lost a game and tied the other one. Their batting has not been able to take advantage of the solid opening starts provided by their captain Bharath Chipli and given away the advantage to the opposition. The bowling which is their strong suit will be under even more pressure as they try to compensate the shortcomings of their batting lineup.
Key Players:
Bharat Chipli: The explosive opener will look to replicate the performance from last year where he was the player of the series and the highest run-getter in the tournament. He was retained by the Bulls and will be looking to repay their trust in him. He has had two good starts and provided a solid foundation which his team has failed to capitalize. He will be looking to convert his starts into a big score and ensure his team bats to it’s fullest potential and provide a fighting chance for their bowlers.
KC Cariappa: The second of the retained duo for the Bulls, Cariappa will look to spin a web against the opposition batsmen. The experienced campaigner who’s had IPL stints with KKR and Kings XI Punjab will look to bring his expertise as he will lead the Bulls bowling attack. Cariappa had a significant contribution in Karnataka’s successful Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy campaign and will be looking to do the same here.

The Mysuru Warriors will be disappointed to just have a solitary point after 3 games. They were in good positions against the Bengaluru Blasters and the Belagavi Panthers before the rain decided to play spoilsport and making their road top the next stage an uphill task. They will have to collect maximum points from their remaining games while hoping the rain stays away.
Key Players:
Krishnamurthy Siddharth: The Karnataka Ranji player who had an excellent Ranji season started off the KPL in a similar fashion almost single-handedly dragging the Warriors to an unlikely victory over the Shivamogga Lions. He looked in excellent touch in their next game against the Belagavi Panthers and will be disappointed that the match was abandoned. He will look to continue his good form and will expect better support from the other batsmen in the team.
Jagadeesha Suchith: The left-arm spinner who became the highest wicket-taker in the history of the competition will look forward to carrying on with his good performances. The player who’s part of the Delhi Daredevils setup in the IPL will also look to score important runs in the middle order and guide his team to respectable scores. He’s also dynamite in the field and will look to contribute with his fielding as well.

The heavy overnight rains and pitches under covers, for the most part, has meant that the wickets have been sticky and hard to get the spinners away. The ball has stopped and come and so it’s not very easy to score quick runs and so totals around 160 have looked a good score and teams have been able to successfully defend it. The weather continues to be an area of concern with matches expected to be interrupted or abandoned by rain in the next week of the tournament.
VENUE
The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore is usually a batter’s paradise with flat decks, short boundaries, and lightning-quick out fields. However with the city getting regular rains and the fresh pitch at the start of the tournament might make the contest a lot more even and bring the bowlers in the game. The ground staff is quite efficient in getting the game started after a rain interruption, and so have ensured as much game time as possible.
Teams will look to chase as the pitches have generally gotten better in the second innings of the afternoon match. The captain winning the toss will look to bowl first and take advantage of any help available in the wicket and then chase when the pitch has settled down and it becomes a lot easier.
Two teams looking for their first victory face off against each other knowing that any slip-ups here will mean an end to the hopes of qualifying to the next stage. Both teams have been inconsistent with the bat and have not been able to support their frontline batsmen who have had good starts. The bowling attack of the Bulls looks far more complete compared to that of the warriors and it may tilt the game in their favor.
The comparatively better bowling attack of the Bijapur Bulls make them slight favorites in this game.
