CRICBETTINGBUZZ PREDICTION: Bijapur Bulls to win the match!
T&Cs apply, 18+
The match number 8 in KPL is between the ever consistent Bijapur Bulls and the 2016 champions Bellary Tuskers. Consistency of Bijapur Bulls is reflected from the fact that they have finished in the top 4, 5 times in the 7 concluded editions of KPL. Bijapur Bulls are the team with the most number of KPL titles, the champions in 2015, 2018 and runners in 2017. On the other hand, Bellary Tuskers are little inconsistent in the 5 seasons they participated. They qualified for the top 4 only in 2016 but went on to win the KPL title.
Bellary Tuskers successfully defended the target in both their matches played so far. Bellary Tuskers managed to defend 163 runs in their match against Hubli Tigers and 144 runs against Belagavi Panthers. The gamble to bowl the leggie Krishnappa Gowtham proved decisive. The 19-year-old left-hander, Devdutt Padikkal from Kerala was the top scorer for the Tuskers with 70 runs after they were put in to bat. There was never a sense of urgency in their scoring rate as the team motored along to a total of 163. And in the earlier match against panthers bowlers defended a paltry score of just 143 runs. They had the Panthers under the mat by picking regular wickets and reducing them to 54 for 5 before Panthers power-hitting pushed the match to last over.
Bijapur Bulls unbeaten run from the 2018 season seemed to be jolted when they were restricted to a score of 133 by the Bengaluru blasters. Bulls skipper Chipli continued his magnificent run from the 2018 season by scoring a brisk 39 off 25 balls. But that is the only good thing happened with their batting as they lost wickets and managed only 40 runs from over 10 to 17. Rain saved Bulls and it was the first Tie by VJD method.

The Tuskers looked solid in their batting by building partnerships against Panthers in their previous game. There was never a phase where they lost wickets in heap. Abhishek Reddy delighted everyone with his sweet strokes and raced to 29 in the powerplay. But he failed to maintain the same tempo and the Keralite Devdutt took control of the remaining innings. There were hardly 2 boundaries scored between overs 6 and 12. Captain Gautam who joined the leftie managed to run a ball 27. Their bowling is looking sharp with KKR young talent Prasidh Krishna and Rajasthan royal’s star Krishnappa Gowtham.
Key Players:
Devdutt Padikkal: The way this leftie batted grabbed everyone’s attention and he is definitely going to pile up the runs in this 2019 edition and be one of those top run-getters.
Krishnappa Gowtham: This man is high on confidence after the opening game backed up by his fruitful performance in the Caribbean where he was the second-highest wicket-taker with 12 victims in the test series. But it is his late hitting abilities that will do his team a world of good.

Bijapur Bulls has been one of the consistent team of the KPL and did not meet their expectations in the first outing. Chipli was the only shining light, in otherwise a disappointing scorecard. Swapnil Yelave held the innings in the later part with an unbeaten 31. The bowling looked flat in the 5 overs that were bowled. They will thank the rain and need to pull themselves up for a better performance in all the departments.
Key Players:
Chipli: The KPL run machine is going to continue his batting prowess. His strike rate of 156 is the best in this season so far.
Cariappa: Proven performer against the very same opposition. He has two match-winning spells against the same opposition which can boost his confidence level.a

Chinnaswamy is not those 200 runs paradise these days. The average score in this tournament is 153. Apart from the opening match, Bangalore weather gods have stayed away from most of the matches and this being a 3.00 PM match we can expect a full match without any weather hindrance.
Historically Chinnaswamy is the ground known for chasing. However, in this tournament, the teams batting first have won most of the matches. The bowling heavy Tuskers will look to bat if they win the toss.
Bijapur Bulls will look to extend their lead over the Tuskers. The challenge in front of them lies in the form of Prasidh Krishna and Krishnappa Gowtham. It will be an interesting contest between Prasidh and Chipli.
We expect the Bijapur Bulls to win this match!
