The pitch in Bengaluru is usually a batting-friendly wicket with small boundaries and lots of runs. However because it’s the first match of the tournament and the possibility of a fresh wicket, run making can be a bit of a hard task. The bowlers might fancy their chances in the early part of the tournament when they are still getting the assistance from the pitch. The weather in Bangalore has been cloudy with occasional rains and that looks like it is going to continue that way. There are good chances that the games might get affected due to intermittent rains.
The captain winning the toss will like to chase on an unknown fresh pitch. The pitch might initially assist the seamers and the captain winning the toss will like to make the most of it. Also because there is a constant threat of rain and the DLS method is always a chance, the team chasing a target will be having an advantage.
Two brand new teams with two exciting batting line ups face up against each other in the first match of the tournament. The batting riches of both teams consist of the likes of Rongsen Jonathon, Rohan Kadam, Sharath BR, Aniruddha Joshi and Amit Verma who will be keen to produce an opening day performance to remember. However, with the constant threat of rain and the possibility of a fresh pitch, the bowlers hold the key and this is where the Bengaluru Blasters might have a slight advantage and end up winners in a closely contested game.
