Following two straight defeats in the first couple of matches, defending champions Jozi Stars would look to overturn their fortune as they take on the Cape Town Blitz amidst the conditions of Newlands. The Stars had suffered a loss versus the de Kock-led Blitz in the tournament opener match of MSL 2019 and would look to settle the score in the coming duel.

Cape Town Blitz would be heavily dependent on the top-order trio of Quinton de Kock, Janneman Malan, and Moeen Ali for laying a match-winning foundation versus Temba Bavuma & Co. The former’s performance, in particular, could set the tone for the hosts in the forthcoming duel.
Middle-order comprising of Liam Livingstone and Mohammad Nawaz could wreak havoc onto the opposition at the situation’s behest.
Bowling wise they look a far competent lineup than the visitors. Pacers Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander hold tremendous T20 experience under their belt and could be vouched to deliver a ripping exhibition at Newlands. Pacer Anrich Nortje and spinner George Linde shouldn’t be forgotten as the duo picked three wickets each in the recently concluded duel, and would be hoping to emulate a similar feat versus the defending champions.

Jozi Stars would be hoping to pull off a victory by whatsoever margin in the coming duel. Opener Reeza Hendricks (62) and skipper Temba Bavuma (33) scored the bulk of runs in the game against Bay Giants and would be backed to replicate a similar performance at Newlands. Chris Gayle and Rassie van der Dussen hadn’t fired in the lately finished outing and would be itching to score a truckload of runs in the coming duel.
In the bowling department, the onus would be on Kagiso Rabada and Simon Harmer for ensuring the early breakthroughs, while Daniel Christian and Aaron Phangiso could be lethal in the middle overs.

It is going to be a partly sunny day at Cape Town with the humidity levels increasing as the match progresses. No chances of rain are being foretold at the moment. A complete 40-overs of play can be expected in the forthcoming event.
The average first innings score at this venue is around 145 runs. The pitch at Newlands offers tremendous help to the batsmen in the latte stages of the contest.
The toss winning captain should consider to bowl first at Newlands. The majority of the matches played at this venue have been won by the team bowling first. With the dew factor coming into play, it would be much easier for the batters to chase the total in the second half of the play.
Cape Town Blitz has got the perfect balance in their batting and bowling lineup which could give them an edge over de Kock-led Stars in the much-anticipated feud. Not to mention, they will be playing in their home conditions which furthermore cements their chances of a victory at Newlands.
We expect Cape Town Blitz to win!
