The 20th match of the Mzansi Super League 2019 will be a very important one for hosts Durban Heat. They are currently sitting in the 5th place in the points table and need to win this one to keep their hopes alive for a place in the playoffs. The side won the last game and this would have boosted their confidence levels.
Nelson Mandela bay Giants, on the other hand, has been in good form and shall look to win this one and claim the No. 1 spot on the points table. Apart from their win in the last game Durban Heat has struggled in the season. In the last game that they played against the Bay Giants, they went down by 5 wickets. The side now has the pressure of performing in front of its home crowd. It will be interesting to see how the two sides approach the game as the Bay Giants are coming into this game after suffering a big loss at the hands of Paarl Rocks.

It was a great show from Dane Vilas’ side in the last game against Cape Town Blitz. The fact that they chased down a big score would have helped their confidence. This is a must-win game for them against Bay Giants and Vilas would want his side to make good use of the home advantage and win this game.
The middle-order for the side is doing well at the moment with Wihan Lubbe, Dane Vilas and David Miller looking in good form. They will, however, need a good start from openers Alex Hales and Wesley Marshall who aren’t in the best of form at the moment.
In Ravi Bopara and Andile Phehlukwayo, they have good hitters lower down the order. As far as bowling goes Keshav Maharaj is at the top of his game and not giving anything to the batsmen. But they will need good spells from their new-ball bowlers Marco Jansen and Kyle Abbott as both of them have so far not been in the best form. Phehlukwayo looks good and along with Bopara will have to bowl well in the middle overs for the side.

JJ Smut’s side went down against Paarl Rocks in the last game by 31 runs. This was their first loss of the season after four wins. The skipper would want his side to put that setback behind and play confidently in the next game against Durban Heat. They had defeated the Heat earlier and shall look to repeat the same magic.
Openers Jason Roy and Matthew Breetzke have to deliver after successive failures in the season. JJ Smuts has looked in good form all this season and found good support from Ben Dunk and Heino Kuhn. These players hold the key to big scores for the side. With Chris Morris and Marcos Marais down the other, the side has good strength in its batting. Imran Tahir is in brilliant form with the ball and is expected to trouble the opponents in the next game. With the new ball, Beuran Hendricks and Chris Morris will be expected to pick wickets. Junior Dala hasn’t had the best of the season so far and needs to do well in the game.

Three games have been abandoned so far at Durban and the weather predictions for November 30 don’t look good. There are chances of shower and the pitch which has soaked in lot of moisture would be difficult to bat on. The fast bowlers will enjoy the conditions as they can get the ball to move. A score of 150 plus would be a challenging total to chase on this surface.
Kingsmead, Durban is a good venue for T20 cricket and evens it out between the batsmen and the bowlers. There is assistance for the fast bowlers on this surface and batsmen are also able to play their strokes as the ball comes on to the bat nicely. The shorter boundaries at the venue help stroke makers play freely.
We may be staring at another rain reduced game given the weather predictions. There is lot of moisture on the surface and batting would be a challenge. In the event of rain the side batting second would have the advantage and thus we expect the skipper winning the toss to put the opposition into bat.
This is a must-win game for the Durban Heat and as they are playing at home they will look to make the best use of the conditions. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants have played well so far in the tournament.
There being predictions for rain the side with the better fast bowling resources is likely to do well and here Nelson Mandela Bay Giants are much ahead of Durban Heat. This will make them favorites to win the game.
