England and Australia will play their second test match of Ashes 2019 at the Lord’s cricket ground in London. Visiting nation, Australia took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Ashes series following a comfortable win in the first test versus host England. Australia batting star Steve Smith made a superb return to the test cricket, he scored 144 and 142 in the first game. He was awarded man of the match for his magnificent batting. In bowling, off-spinner Nathan Lyon 6 wicket haul ripped through England batting line-up in the second inning, he picked 9 wickets from the first game. At the end of the first inning, visitors were trailing by 90+, however, centuries from both Smith and Mathew Wade puts Aussies on top. Skipper Tim Paine led side would be riding high on confidence after their thumping win in the previous match and would be looking to make it 2-0.
On the other hand, England, 2019 50-overs WC winner, failed to deliver the clinical performance in the last game. They were on top until the first inning, but some great batting from visitors sidelined their hopes of winning the game. Rory Burns century in the first inning has been the biggest positive for the side from last game. England skipper Joe Root and vice-captain Ben Stokes also scored the fifties in the first inning. Skipper Joe Root has been England’s principal batsmen in test in recent times, and the onus will be on him to hold the inning and score big in the upcoming games. Bowling unit also failed to deliver a key breakthrough in the second inning and that led opponent to score massively. Both English batsmen and bowler need to come up with a much better performance to win the game.

Joe Root and co. will have their task cut out against spirited Australian side. England got a good bunch of young and experienced player in the side but failed to perform in the last game. Joe Root has been the best batsman in the present England Test team. He has been in great form in recent times. In last 82 test games, he scored 6803 runs at an average of 48.94. He possesses great temperament and skills that would be very vitals against lethal Aussies pace-attack.
Jason Roy who has been drafted in test side following his great success in ODI will be keen to make the impact in red-ball cricket. Usually, he is very destructive player up front, but he needs to play with more patience in the five-day game.
Ben Stokes is arguably one of the best all-rounders in cricket at present and also he has been the most influential player in England setup. In last 20 test match innings, he picked 27 wickets at an average of 29.14 and scored 602 runs at an average of 32. He needs to play a big role in England’s success in the ongoing series.
In the bowling unit, England is likely to make few changes. Injured James Anderson is likely to be replaced by young-talented pacer Jofra Archer. And spinner Jack Leach in place of Moeen Ali. In the absence of leading pacer Jimmy Anderson, responsibility will be on another veteran Stuard broad to lead the bowling attack. He got great success in Test cricket, picked 450 test wickets at an average of 28.78.

The morale of the Australian side would be very high following the comprehensive win in the last game. Former skipper, Steve Smith had an amazing returned to the test side. Without a doubt, he is one of the best test batsmen in the present era. He has now total 10 centuries in Ashes. It would be interesting to see how he tackled against English Pacer -Jofra Archer. Aussies team would be relying heavily on him to make most of the run and bat for a longer duration.
On the other hand, David Warner was not able to continue his stupendous world cup form in returning to test cricket. However, he is kind of player who can take the game away from an opponent in a single session with his fire-power batting. Middle-order batsman, Travis head has been the leading scorer for Aussies in last year; he smashed 749 runs from 16 innings at an average of 49.93. He would be keen to carry on his good form.
On the bowling front, Nathon Lyon has been tremendous form. He is the leading wicket-taker for Aussies in last year; picked 47 wickets in 17 innings at an average of 29. He is a world-class spinner and can win the game on his own. Pat Cummins has been the second-best bowler for the side; he picked 35 wickets from just 13 innings. Bowling duo played a crucial role in the first game and once again the onus will be on them to deliver with the ball. Peter Siddle and James Pattinson/Mitchell Starc will be another pacer in the side.

The historic Lord’s ground in London is ready to host the second game of the 2019 Ashesh series. According to the AccuWeather, slight rain is anticipated during this five-day game, the however full game is expected to play. Out of last 150 test matches, 50 matches were won by batting first while 39 matches by bowling first team. The pitch at Lord's on is going to be flat and dry. So it would be wise to bat first after winning the toss and put massive first inning score on board.
We expect the team winning toss will definitely wish to bat first at this venue.
England against Australia in Ashes is one of the biggest rivalries in cricket. It is a marquee clash. The Australian side looks extremely balanced after returning of Smith and Warner in the side. Besides their bowling unit also looks very deadly. On the other hand, England has got a great bunch of young talented players in a group, but they lack the resilience batting in the test game. They need to switchgear from the ODI. Considering the form and recent performances, Australia will be the favorites to win this game and take a 2-0 lead in the series. We predict Australia will win this match.
