England

Eoin Morgan will be pleased with his side’s performance in the second game of the series against Ireland. Once again it was the bowlers who delivered a splendid performance to setup a comfortable win for England.

Left-arm quick David Willey produced a probing spell with new-ball and picked up key wickets of Paul Stirling and Gareth Delaney.

Leg-spinner Adil Rashid claimed three wickets in the middle overs to see Ireland struggling at 91 for 6 after 27.1 overs.

Rookie pacer Saqib Mahmood also bowled well and finished with figures of 2 for 45 in his 9 overs.

Chasing 213 runs in 50 overs, England suffered an early setback as opener Jason Roy perished for a duck. Wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow and James Vince put on a 71-run partnership to rebuild the innings for England.

Vince once again failed to make an impression and perished after scoring 16 runs off 26 balls with the help of three boundaries.

For England, Jonny Bairstow was the standout performer with the bat. He smashed a belligerent 82 runs off 41 balls with the help of 14 fours and 2 sixes.

England had a stutter in the middle overs as they lost wickets in quick succession. Sam Billings and David Willey put on an unbeaten 79-run partnership to see England complete the chase in the 32nd over.

Sam Billing played well and scored 46 not out off 61 balls with the help of six fours. He was well supported by David Willey, who chipped in with a fluent 47 not off 46 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
