After suffering a humiliating defeat against West Indies in their first game Pakistan will now lock horns with hosts England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in the 6th game of the tournament. The English side has done well to live up to their favorites tag as they defeated the South Africans in their first game convincingly. It was an all-round display by the batsmen and the bowlers that saw them meeting the challenge posed by the South Africans.
In the ODI series preceding the World Cup England had defeated Pakistan 4-0. In fact, the Pakistanis now have 11 consecutive defeats behind their back as they take on the hosts at Trent Bridge where they won an ODI game way back in 1996. It will be a tough task for Pakistan team and they need to play out of their skins to win this one.

Eoin Morgan would be pleased with his side’s show against South Africa. They played perfectly to the script putting up a sizeable total on the board and kept up the pressure on the South Africans with their bowling. The skipper would be confident with his side’s recent performance against Pakistan and would like to carry on with the same momentum.
In the game against South Africa, Jonny Bairstow went without scoring and he would be looking to make amends. Everyone else in the top order made good contributions including Joe Root, Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, and Ben Stokes. With guys like Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali lower down the order they have good firepower in their batting and look to do well in the next game.
It was a Jofra Archer show in the last game and he just showed why he is so highly regarded in the English camp. Adil Rashid also bowled well in the last game and the side would be happy with the performance of Chris Woakes. The team management would hope to see Liam Plunkett and Moeen Ali do well in the next game as they leaked some runs in the last encounter. Bowling still remains their weakness and the side would want the bowlers to bowl like the way they bowled in the last game.

Sarfaraz Ahmed would be a worried man not because of the huge loss to West Indies in the last game but the overall form of his side over the last two months. The side has been repeating the same mistakes failing to play according to the demand of the situation. The team will need to regroup to do well in the next game.
Batting was in shambles in the last game but the side has few talented players who will look to do well in the next game. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman have done well in the recent games and would be looking to give the side a good start. Babar Azam, Haris Sohal, Mohammad Hafeez, and Sarfaraz Ahmed will need to contribute with the bat for the side to win the next game.
In the bowling department, there wasn’t much for the side to defend but Mohammad Amir did bowl well in the last game. Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz went for too many runs and they will need to bowl in the right areas in the next game. It would also be a big test for their spinners Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim to contain the strong English line-up.

It is expected to be clear skies in Nottingham on June 03 and this will make a paradise for batting. The track has already seen several high scores in the recent past and we should be prepared to see that once more. A score of more than 330 runs would be a fighting total on this surface.
VENUE
Trent Bridge, Nottingham offers some assistance to the fast bowlers in the early overs but becomes a good surface to bat on. It is still one of the last remaining bowling wickets in England. Batsmen who spend their time on this wicket tend to score heavily in the death overs.
The last game played on this ground went to the side that bowled first. There is early moisture on the surface that the side bowling first would like to use. We expect the captain winning the toss to bowl first on this surface and try and get the opponents out cheaply.
The team winning the toss would opt to Bowl first!
England has started their campaign in style defeating the South Africans convincingly in their last game. They are being seen as one of the favorites for the title and they didn’t do any harm to this reputation in the last game. Pakistan, on the other hand, suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of West Indies and have do bounce back to win this one. Going by form and the strengths of the two sides England would definitely be the favorites to win this encounter.
England seems like the inevitable winner in this game!
