It will be a big challenge for Harmanpreet Kaur as they face England Women in this game given the poor record they have against them. These conditions are alien to the Indian players. Kaur would be aware of the strength her opponents have and expect a better show from them as they go into this game. Smriti Mandhana will have to play the anchor’s role for the side and look to provide a good start in the company of Shafali Verma. Pooja Vastrakar and Kaur are good players in the middle order.
Veda Krishnamurthy and Deepti Sharma will have to play fast-paced innings down the order against the strong bowling line-up that England Women have. The bowling attack would look for a good start from Pooja Vastrakar and Shikha Pandey. In these conditions, they will have to get a maximum bargain out of the surface. Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav and Poonam Yadav have been consistent performers for the team and it will be interesting to see how they bowl on this surface where they aren’t likely to find too much of assistance.

It will be a hot and humid day at Canberra on January 31. The conditions would be windy and the side batting first will have to deal with a track where they won’t be able to force their scoring rate. Fast bowlers are likely to do well in this game. The side batting first will be eyeing a score of 150 plus runs on this track.
Manuka Oval, Canberra is a high scoring venue and over the years we have seen lots of runs being scored here in T20s. The ball comes onto the bat nicely and the smaller size of the ground offers plenty of run scorning opportunities. Slow bowlers have done well here as they create doubts in the minds of the batters.
The pitch is likely to ease on as the game progresses but there would be some assistance for the fast bowlers early on in the game. Most sides prefer to chase than bat first in T20 game these days and hence we expect the side winning the toss to bowl first on this surface.
It is a game between two of the best sides in the world. Both sides would look forward to starting well in this game as a win here would brighten their prospects in the series.
India Women would look to better their record against England Women riding on their recent form and confidence. England Women with their strong line-up aren’t likely to make it easy for their Indian counterparts. Their record against India Women would make them favorites going into this game.
