It is the 16th game of the Vincy Premier League, 2020 and the Fort Charlotte Strikers would be taking on the Grenadines Divers in what is a contest between two of the bottom hunters of the points table.
The Strikers are yet to win a game after having played five games in the tournament so far. The Divers haven’t had it any better with a solitary win so far in an equal number of games.
In the last game the Fort Charlotte Strikers went down against the Botanic Gardens Rangers by 6 runs in what as another case of the team unable to hold onto its nerves at the final moments of the game. The Grenadines Divers, on the other hand, lost to La Soufriere Hikers by 10 runs. It is a must-win game for both sides and it will be interesting to see how they fare in this contest.

Keron Cottoy's team is getting it all wrong this season. In what was another case of the side failing to win the key moments in a game they threw away the game against the Botanic Gardens Rangers after looking all set for a win. With their chances of qualification to the semifinals already looking bleak, the side will have to play out of its skins in the next game.
Gidron Pope and Sealroy Williams stitched a very good stand in the last game but there was hardly any support from other players. These two will need to play well in the next game but the side will need good show with the bat from skipper Cottoy, Renrick Williams and Kirton Lavia who haven’t been consistent in the tournament.
Ray Jordan is doing well with the ball and in the last two games we have seen this side doing well as far as bowling is concerned. Going into this game the team will require an improved show from Rasheed Fredericks, Kirton Lavia and Chelson Stowe to earn their first win of the tournament.
Asif Hooper took over the captaincy role from Obed McCoy in the last game but he was unable to turn the fortunes of his side as they went down against the La Soufriere Hikers by 10 runs. With their backs to the wall the side will need to come up with an impressive win to keep their hopes alive for earning a berth in the semifinals.
Asif Hooper and Shem Browne must provide a good start to the side in the next game. Alex Samuel’s attacking knock in the last game would have been a morale booster for the side and he needs to continue with the same form. Down the order the side will be looking at Tijorn Pope and Romano Pierre to do well with the bat in this all-important game.
Asif Hooper is among the leading wicket-takers of the tournament and bowled well in the last game. He will need to focus on bowling tighter lines in the game. The side will also need a good show with the ball from McCoy, Richie Richards, and Razine Browne in the next game.

There would be cloud cover over St Vincent on May 27 and this might give some assistance to the bowlers in what has been a batsmen’s game in the last few contests. The pitch would be a good one to bat on and the side that bats first will need to eye a big score to improve odds of winning.
Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent is a small venue and this makes it easy for the batsmen to stroke the ball. The bowlers aren’t likely to get much assistance from the surface in the early overs. It is a venue where the spinners have done well as the ball tends to stop a bit on the batsmen.
The last 9 games in the tournament have seen the sides batting first successfully defending the score. The pitch is good form batting at the moment. Hence the skipper winning the toss in this game is likely to choose to bat and target a big score on the board.
The Fort Charlotte Strikers are looking in miserable form at the moment. What is hurting them is their inability to win the crunch moments in the game. The Grenadines Divers too aren’t looking in the best of form and have so far managed to win only one game in the tournament. They, however, have few of their players in good form and who have scored runs and picked wickets regularly and this is likely to offer them a slight edge going into this game.
