The 30th match of the Caribbean Premier League will be played at Providence between current table toppers Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders.
The Warriors are experiencing an amazing unbeaten run in this CPL so far with wins in all the 9 matches, whereas, Trinbago Knight Riders are struggling at the 4th spot with just 4 wins in 9 matches. Both the teams have qualified for the playoffs already but a win in the last match in league stage would do a world of good for the confidence of these two teams.
In the previous encounter between these two teams, Warriors defeated the Knight Riders by 19 runs and they look like continuing the winning run in their last league match. Knight Riders though would want to believe that they can play like the defending champions and can end Warriors’ dream run in CPL 2019.

The GAW has an amazing chance to go into the playoffs undefeated in the league stage. They have won all the 9 league matches till now including the previous encounter against the current opponents - Trinbago Knight Riders – by 19 runs. The Warriors will fancy their chances as they are up against a team that has lost 4 of the last 5 matches with one game washed out. It is not just the wins but the comprehensiveness of them makes the Warriors a stand out team of the CPL 2019.
In the last game though GAW had a bit of scare when they lost 4 in 4 balls to across the first two overs. However, Shoaib Malik (73 Not-out) and Shane Rutherford (45) made sure that the Warriors reached a respectable total of 156 in 20 overs. The spin trio of Imran Tahir, Qais Ahmad and Kemo Paul bagged 7 wickets among them to dismantle Jamaica Tallawahs for just 79 runs to register 9th consecutive victory of the season.
With multiple spinners decorating their squad, spin is the go-to weapon for the Warriors. Captain Shoaib Malik has been instrumental in using them accurately. Imran Tahir has 13 wickets in just 6 games. Malik along with Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj would lead the batting efforts. The Warriors look all set to play the playoffs without any hiccups in the league stage.
Christopher Green, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Imran Tahir, Ben Laughlin, Nicholas Pooran, Odean Smith, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shoaib Malik, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford

Trinbago Knight Riders are the only team apart for the Warriors to win their first 4 matches of the season. However, unlike Warriors, the Knight Riders could not continue the winning run. In fact, they lost 4 of the next 5 games with one game against St Lucia Zouks washed out.
The defending champions, Trinbago Knight Riders, lost their momentum after a couple of defeats and a washed-out game and they never seemed to get back in track. In the last match against Barbados Tridents, the Knight Riders could muster only 134 for 8 in the 20 overs batting first. Apart from Simmons, who scored 60 in just 45 balls, no other batter from the Knight Riders could stay on the crease for long to make an impact. The Tridents got over the line with 7 wickets to spare. Jordan, Neesham, and Deyal picked one wicket each.
The Knight Riders are defending champions and they started their season in the grand fashion but once they lost their way they just kept falling and kept finding ways to lose. They have already qualified for the playoff but captain Pollard would want a win under their belt before they begin the playoffs. A lot depends on how the big names such as Neesham, Simmons, Munro and none other than captain Pollard perform for them.

On the match day, thunderstorm is expected in the first half of the day. The daytime temperature is going to between 31°c and 26°c through the day. The weather is expected to be nice and partly cloudy with precipitation chances of around 40%.
The venue for this match is Providence Stadium in Guyana which is the home ground for the Warriors. The Warriors have won all 4 home games played so far.
A total of 7 T20 internationals have been played at this venue with team batting first and second each winning 3 games (1 match was abandoned). This is not a high scoring ground with scores reaching around 150-160 in the first innings. Of the 4 matches played here so far teams batting first have won 3 of them. Thus, winning the Toss and choosing to Bat first is the safe option here.
This is a match between the defending champions – Trinbago Knight Riders – who seem to have lost their way against an unbeaten team so far in CPL 2019 – Guyana Amazon Warriors – who, if they continue playing their game, might go all the way to lift the trophy in this season. While the Knight Riders look in a rut right now, they would confidence from the fact that they have multiple match-winners in their team. The Warriors, on the other hand, are looking unstoppable and they wouldn’t want to change a thing about the way they are playing at the moment.
Our prediction is that Guyana Amazon Warriors will beat Trinbago Knight Riders to register 10th victory of this season!
