Grenadines Divers would take on the Fort Charlotte Strikers in the 8th game of the Vincy Premier League 2020 and this will be a very important contest for the two teams. Both sides have played two games each so far in the tournament and lost on both these occasions. One more loss would complicate the problems for either side in their bid to earn a place in the knock-out stage of the tournament.
Grenadines Divers are coming into this game having lost against the Botanic Gardens Rangers in the last game. While the Fort Charlotte Strikers suffered at the hands of the Salt Pond Breakers. It will be a battle of nerves for both the teams with the winner opening up their chances for the rest of the season.

Obed McCoy’s side for the second time in the tournament lost a game due to the poor form of their batsmen. They managed to score only 65 runs in their allotted 10 overs and went down against the Botanic Garden Rangers by 3 wickets.
McCoy would need to instill confidence among his batsmen who seem to be making a mess of the scoring rate. Their batting approach has been strange as their batsmen have been unable to score quick runs. The side will need a good start from Wayne Harper and Shem Browne.
In the middle order Asif Hooper, Richie Richards, and McCoy need to push up the scoring rate. Tijorn Pope needs to do the big-hitting for the side towards the end of the innings in the company of Razine Browne.
Geron Wyllie has shown good form with the ball but the rest of the bowling pack hasn’t lived up to the expectations so far in the tournament. The likes of McCoy, Richards and Braxie Browne need to bowl tighter lines and take additional responsibility given the poor form of their batsmen in the season so far.
Keron Cottoy’s team suffered the second consecutive loss of the season where they were downed by the Salt Pond Breakers by 21 runs in their last game. It was again a case of the team not being able to play well as a unit. Cottoy will need to lift up the morale of the side in the next game and look to win against a side that too hasn’t done well in the season so far.
They need a good start at the top from Gidron Pope and Ronald Scott. This is one area where they have failed in both the games. Cottoy, Renrick Williams, and Chelson Stowe need to push up the scoring rate and not get tied down in the wicket. In Ray Jordan they have a good player down the order to do the hitting.
Ray Jordan is bowling well for the side which is a good sign and he found good support from Kirton Lavia in the last game. The skipper along with Rasheed Fredericks, Stowe and Sealroy Williams will look forward to bowling an economical spell in the next game to emerge victorious.

There would be slight cloud cover at St. Vincent on May 24 which will help the bowlers create problems for the batsmen. The pitch hasn’t been the easiest one to bat on as the ball hasn’t come on to the bat nicely. The side batting first would be watchful and look at rotating the strike to put up a big total on the board.
Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent is a small ground and the boundary ropes have been further pulled in for this tournament. Batsmen who have been watchful have done well at this venue while fast bowlers do well with the new ball. The odd ball stops on the surface and this has rewarded the spinners.
Bowlers are finding good support from the surface with the new ball and we have so far seen sides batting first struggle on this surface. Hence we believe the captain winning the toss in this game won’t be hesitant in inviting the opposition to bat first and try getting them out for a small total.
It will be a battle of nerves between the two bottom hunters of the points table. The Grenadines Divers have had a tough time with their batting as none of their batsmen have been able to play at the pace this format of the game demands. The Fort Charlotte Strikers on the other hand have looked better both with the bat as well as the ball and this would make them slight favorites in this game.
