In the 13th match of the Vincy Premier League 2020, the Grenadines Divers would be taking on the La Soufriere Hikers.
The Divers are struggling at the moment and have so far won just one out of their four games and can’t afford to lose any more if they are to be in the hunt for a berth in the semi-finals.
The Hikers are looking comfortable with three wins in four games. In their previous game against the Dark View Explorers the Divers went down by 7 runs in what was another instance of the side being unable to handle the pressure. The La Soufriere Hikers won comfortably against the Fort Charlotte Strikers. It remains to be seen if the Divers are able to turn their fortunes in the next game.

Obed McCoy would be upset with the performance of his side in the last game against the Dark View Explorers where they went down by 7 runs after looking comfortable in the chase. As we reach the midpoint in the tournament McCoy would have to pull all the string and want his side to come out with a positive approach in the next game.
At the top of the order Asif Hooper and Shem Browne did well in the last game and the side will expect a good start from them. Alex Samuel also looks in good form. The side will however need good support down the order from Tijorn Pope, Richie Richards, and Razine who have failed on most of the games so far.
In terms of bowling, Asif Hooper has been the standout performer so far in this tournament so far. McCoy bowled well in the last game but the side will need the likes of Richards, Pope, and Razine Browne to bowl tighter lines against a strong batting line-up that the Hikers have.
Desron Maloney’s side bounced back in the last game against the Fort Charlotte Strikers and won it by 11 runs. This win would have given the side lot of confidence as it came after a loss against the Salt Pond Breakers. Maloney will want his side to keep up with the same show and win this game to strengthen their position for the rest of the season.
Opener Salvan Browne played outstandingly in the last game and along with skipper Maloney will look forward to setting up a big total on the board. Down the order the side has good hitters of the ball in Dillon Douglas, Dean Browne, and Rawdon Bentick. All these players are capable of scoring quick runs which adds to the strength of the side.
Their bowlers held their nerves in a close contest with Othneil Lewis and Dean Browne standing out with their highly economical spells. The skipper would look at Dillon Douglas, Jeremy Haywood and Rayan Williams to bowl tighter lines in the next game.

The weather would be slightly cloudy over St. Vincent on May 26 with chances of light showers. This will offer some advantage to the bowlers. By and large the pitch has been a good one to bat on in the last few games and the side that bats first will have to eye a score around 100 to feel comfortable on this surface.
Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent is a small ground and this allows the batsmen to play their strokes without any fear. Fast bowlers do well at this venue with the new ball while spinners are able to use the crease well as the oddball tends to stop and bounce on the batsmen.
The last six games in this tournament have seen the sides batting first winning all the games. The pitch is behaving well and allowing batsmen to play their strokes. Thus we believe the side that wins the toss is likely to bat first and aim at putting up a big score.
The Grenadines Divers are under tremendous pressure going into this game. They have failed to play well as a unit and some of their key players have struggled so far in the tournament. The La Soufriere Hikers on the other hand have looked in tremendous form and barring the game against the Salt Pond Breakers they have done well. This will make the La Soufriere Hikers favorites to win this game.
