Fifth-placed Hobart Hurricanes would be taking on the seventh-placed Brisbane Heat in their 1st faceoff of the season.
Hurricanes, led by Ben McDermott, have had mixed results so far this season. In four matches competes so far, they hold two wins and as many losses, and would look to bounce back from the recent defeat at the hands of Melbourne Stars in the upcoming game at Bellerive Oval.
On the other hand, Brisbane Heat seems to have lost the momentum in spite of possessing the likes of Chris Lynn, Tom Banton, Ben Cutting and Matt Renshaw in their lineup. Heat suffered their 3rd loss of the season in the recent outing against Perth Scorchers and it is about time they come up with a winning strategy for the remaining T20s.

Although the rain did play a spoilsport in Hurricanes' previous match versus Stars, they didn't bat well either and would be backing themselves to put up a stellar show in the coming feud.
D Arcy Short (120 runs in 4 innings) has been the leading run-getter for the Hurricanes in BBL 2019-20 and with skipper Ben McDermott (88 runs in 4 innings) would be hoping to set truckload of runs on board. Simon Milenko and Caleb Jewell being the other top-order batsmen would be wishing to get as many runs to the total.
Bowling wise, they would be reliant on pacer Riley Meredith (8 wickets in 4 innings) and all-rounder James Faulkner (7 wickets in 3 innings) for executing those swingers and yorkers at required intervals. Pacer Qais Ahmad (6 wickets in 4 innings) has had some success with his pace variations and will be a vital cog for the Hurricanes.

Max Bryant and Tom Banton (87 runs in 3 innings) would look to build a solid partnership at the top-order at the same time ensuring that the boundaries come at frequent intervals. Chris Lynn (123 runs in 4 innings) and all-rounder Matt Renshaw (126 runs in 4 innings) have scored the bulk of runs for the Heat in BBL 2019-20 and along with the opening duo of Bryant-Banton would look to unsettle the rival bowlers from the very moment.
Ben Laughlin (5 wickets in 4 innings) has been highly effective so far and would be spearheading the bowling attack for the Heat. Left-arm chinaman Zahir Khan (2/18) had a ripper of a day in the match against Scorchers and will look to emulate similar figures in the upcoming bout. Pacers Josh Lalor and Mark Steketee will look to get some movement off the overcast conditions at Bellerive Oval.
