The first game of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday. There is always a great set of excitement when two of the strongest team in cricket India and Australia take on each other.

The home side will be coming to this game following the great T-20 and ODI victory against Sri Lanka and West Indies. India’s batsmen and bowlers are playing their role to perfections. Skipper, Virat Kohli is leading the team from the front; he is currently ICC best ODI batsman. Besides, Jasprit Bumrah returns to the side from injury gives the side a huge boost. He is India’s prime bowlers and contributes vastly to the team's great success last year. Though India won all the earlier series played in the ongoing home season, it will be the toughest series of the season and men in blue will leave no stone unturned to continue the dominant home record.
On the other hand, Aussies are coming into the series following great 5 test matches win. Besides, the come-from-behind win in India last year will give Australia confidence going into the first game. Like the opponent, Australia also has got an exciting line-up. They have got some new players like Marnus Labuschagne who is the in-form batsman at the moment. Besides, the returning of the Warner and Smith made the batting line-up very strong. Aussies also great pace attack comprising of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Aaron Finch led side would be eying for clinical performance and take an early lead in the series.

India

Men in blue are playing good all-round cricket across all the three formats of the game. In batting, the host-side possesses the top two ICC best ODI batsmen, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Batting duo is in phenomenal form and doing the bulk of the scoring in the last couple of years. Rohit Sharma is India’s leading run-scorer last year, scored 1490 from 27 games at an average of 57.30 whereas skipper Virat Kohli also scored 1377 at an average of 59.86 last year. Ones again the onus will be on the batting duo to deliver top-class batting performance. Shikhar Dhawan or K L Rahul is likely to form the opening pair with Rohit. It will be a difficult decision for the selector to choose from these two as both are in good form.
In the middle order, Shreyas Iyer has done remarkably well in the limited opportunity thus far; he has scored a couple of half-centuries in last ODI series against Windies. Ravindra Jadeja will be leading all-rounder in the side; he has been in great form in both batting and bowling last year.
Bowling wise, Pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami form will be very crucial for India. They got sheer pace, nasty bouncer and a deceptive slower delivery in their repertoire that’s good enough to run through opponent batting lineup. With 42 wickets from 21 games, Mohammed Shami was the leading ODI wicket-taker last year. Left Arm Spinner, Kuldeep Yadav is likely to lead the spin attack. He offers useful variety and key breakthrough in the middle overs.

Australia

Skipper Aaron Finch and co. will be playing their first ODI game after the world cup last year. After the epic performance in the last ODI series in India, captain Aaron Finch will hope his side can pull off yet another shook win. In batting, Aussies would be relying heavily on their top-order batsmen, Aaron Finch, David Warner and Steve Smith. Skipper Aaron Finch has been the Aussies leading scorer last year; scored 1141 runs at an average of 51.86. David Warner and Steve Smith, who missed the last year's ODI series, will be eager to get going. D Warner has the remarkable world cup, where scored 600+ runs. He is an explosive top-order batsman and likes to play in Indian conditions.
Steve Smith is arguably one of the best batsmen in the game. He is a great player of spin and it would be very vital Aussies, he holds the one batting end versus quality Indian bowlers. Marnus Labuschagne, the rising star of Australian Cricket also drafted into the squad and is in inline to make his debut in the series. He is a very talented player. He was a man of the series in Aussies the last series against New Zealand.
Bowling duo Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins will form the pace attack. M Starc possesses a vicious bouncer and Yorker that’s good enough to rattle any batsman in the world. Whereas Pat Cummins is Aussies leading wicket-taker last year, picked 31 wickets from last 16 ODI games. Indian top order will be seriously tested against this bowling duo.

Pitch And Weather Conditions

Weather conditions are great in Mumbai on Tuesday and there is no forecast of rain. The wicket at the Wankhede offers help for both the pacers and spinners. Conditions help the swing bowlers considerably, especially during early hours of the day. Although the new ball does a bit in limited-overs cricket, the pitch tends to ease out and favour batsmen as the innings progresses. The venue provides great entertainment.

Venue Details

The first game of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Toss Prediction

Out of the last 24 completed ODI, 12 won by the team batting first and 12 by chasing team. 239 has been the average first inning score, while 205 in the second inning. Dew is likely to be there during the second inning and it’s going to play a major role. Hence we predict We anticipate the team winning the toss will look to bowl first.

Winning Prediction

Both sides are extremely balanced and play tough cricket. India got highly ranked batsman and bowler in the ODI. Also, they possess many star performers in the side.

On the other hand, Australia got few good top order batsmen but they have vulnerabilities in the middle-order batting and bowling. We expect it to be a thrilling contest but India will have an edge considering the recent performances.

We predict India will win this match!
