In the first game, a late blitz from Musfiqur Rahim saw Bangladesh take victory over formidable Indian side by seven wickets and go 1-0 up in the series. Indian young T20 squad led by experienced campaigner Rohit Sharma would be disappointed by the team performance in the previous game. The game was even setup till the 38th over of the match, however, some inexperienced death bowling and few missed catches at crucial juncture cost India the first game.
As the T20 2020 wold cup is on the horizon, it would be a good opportunity for the youngsters to learn from the mistakes and make a point. Men in blue would be eying for clinical performance and level the series at Rajkot. Bangladesh, on the other hand, has a great opportunity to win the series and achieve a great milestone. The spell from two young Bangladesh spinner, Aminul Islam and Afif Hosain was the Notable performance in the previous game. Both were very excellent against the quality spin playing side. Men in blue would be eying for clinical performance in all three aspects of the game to get the win and save the series. In batting except for Shikhar Dhawan’s 41 runs, other batsmen failed to convert the initial start in the last fixture. India kept on losing wickets without any big partnership. The team would be hoping much better batting performance from the top-order batsmen.
Skipper Rohit Sharma is currently the leading scorer in T-20. He scored 2452 runs from 91 T20 innings at an impressive average of 31.84 and it also includes 4 T20 centuries. 2019 has been the best cricketing year for the skipper as he scored nine international centuries this year. After he failed early in the first game, certainly, the big score is on the card. Another top-order batsman K L Rahul also has a strike rate of above 140 in T20 and he would be eager to get a big one. In the middle, Rishabh Pant needs a decent score under his belt, especially with Sanju Samson breathing down his neck. He has got great potential and its high time to make most of it. All-rounders Krunal Pandya and W Sunder played good cameo to take the side over 140 marks in the first game. However, they would be looking for much-improved bowling performance in the upcoming games.
On the bowling front, Deepak Chahar was excellent in the powerplay, however, the team would want him to provide some early breakthrough. His partner, Khaleel Ahmed was excellent except his last over, where the opponent’s man in form hits him 4 consecutive fours and took the game away from India. Possessing a compelling T20I record, Yuzvendra Chahal was India’s go to the bowler in the previous game. He bowled with great discipline and didn’t allow the opponent to score runs. He picked one wicket and was also economical during his four-over spell.

Men in green would be growing high in confidence following the triumph against the potentially stronger team. Despite playing without their key players, visitors applied themselves remarkably to mark the significant victory. Hence, we predict visitors are unlikely to change a winning combination Ones again the onus will be on the veteran Musfiquir Rahim to hold the Bangladesh batting from one end and score bulk of the runs. He likes to bat against India and also average 35 against the host in T20 which is much higher compared to his average against other national teams. Besides, his guidance will be very vital for the youngsters in the team under pressure situation.
The opening batsman, Saumya Sarkar played good anchored inning of 39 runs in the previous game. He would be keen to carry on the good form. Liton Das, one of the emerging Bangladeshi batsmen in recent times would want to provide a good start in power-play play. Skipper Mahmudallah, also played good cameo of unbeaten 7 balls 15 runs to get the team over the line. He is an impact player and got great skills and experience. On the bowling front, the pacers comprising of Al-Amin Hossain, Shafiul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman. Al-Amin Hossain who is returning to the national team had an excellent previous game. Though he was wicket-less he gave less than 7 runs per over. Shafiul Islam and Aminul Islam both picked two wickets each. The weather forecast for the match evening in Rajkot is hazy. However, there isn’t any forecast of precipitation. Rajkot offers very flat track and hence we expect it to be a high scoring game.
Average first inning score 198 and second inning score is 179. Hence, after winning the toss it would be wise to bat first and score massive first inning score and put opponent under pressure.
Out of earlier Two T20 games played at this venue, one was won by batting first whereas chasing team won the second game. We expect the team winning toss will look to bat first at this venue.
After the exciting previous game, certainly, the next one is on the card. India would be looking to rectify the earlier mistakes and come back strongly.
We predict India is favorites to win the second game as their side is strong still and got all the potential to bounce back. On the other hand, Bangladesh is relying heavily on the few individuals and that’s where the host side has a great advantage. Hence, despite losing the previous game, we predict India would bounce back and win the second game of the series.
