Host India and England are ready to face off in the first-ever day-night Test in Ahmedabad, starting from Wednesday.
This will be the sixteenth match in the history of five-day format which will be played under lights, and the second in which India will take part.
With the series evenly poised at 1-1, India will be looking to select their strongest playing XI for this game. Captain Virat Kohli will certainly make some changes for this third Test.
On the other hand, England will need to make amends for their mistakes made in the previous game and put in an improved performance in this day-night Test.

The focus in the game will be on two superstars –Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma and Bowling all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin– both of them delivered scintillating performances to help India level four-match Test series.
Rohit Sharma, who played blistering knock of 161 runs on a turning wicket, will be looking to continue his merry ways with the bat in this pink-ball Test.
Another player who will be in focus during the game is India’s premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who will start the game with 394 wickets in the longest format of the game and will be looking to complete quadruple century of wickets in the five-day format.
As far as the team news is concerned, India will go in with three pacers –Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah – and one spinner in Ravichandran Ashwin. The home side might add Mayank Agarwal in place of Axar Patel, given the conditions might suit the seamers instead of spinners.
On the other hand, Jonny Bairstow will be playing his first Test after not being picked for the first two matches of the series.
With Jonny Bairstow coming into the final XI, the visitors will be hoping to put on a strong show in this Test match.
In the batting department, the side will be heavily on in-form batsman Joe Root to deliver another big innings in this Pink Ball Test.
However, as per England’s captain Joe Root, James Anderson and Stuart Broad could be slotted into the playing XI in place of Moeen Ali and Olly Stone. Rory Burns might get dropped as Jonny Bairstow might be promoted to open the innings for England.
On the other hand, England will also go with the same formula of three pacers – Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Olly Stone – and one spinner in Jack Leach, whereas Joe Root will bowl his part-time spin if necessary.

The pitch has a fair bit of grass, which means it will assist the pacers with the pink ball expected to hoop around during the night. The weather forecast for the all five days is expected to be clear skies with light winds.
Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera in Ahmedabad will host the third Test between India and England. India will take heart from the fact that they have beaten England in a Test match played at this venue in 2012.
The side that wins the toss would be looking to bowl first and exploit the pitch conditions with the pink ball.
There is no doubt that India definitely have the upper hand going into this third Test against England. With Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin delivering their career-best performances for India, the home side will be hoping that captain Virat Kohli can deliver big runs in this day-night Test.
On the other hand, England will have a decent chance in this game as James Anderson and Stuart Broad will enjoy bowling in these conditions.
Expect India to register a comfortable win over England and take 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
