In the last game, the home side produced the clinical performance in all aspects of the game. In batting, Rohit Sharma was the main protagonist as he slammed twin hundred. Indian team would look carry on the momentum to win the second test of the series and record 12th consecutive series win at home, most by any team. On the contrary, the South African team fought hard in the first inning of the last game to get close to India’s score however the side crumbled in the second inning. In last game, bowlers failed to take wickets at a regular interval that allow India to set the tone for victory. In batting, Dean Elgar and De Kock were outstanding, both scored a century in the first inning.
Skipper Faf Du Plessis is likely to make changes in the second game to get balance in batting and spin bowling. Unlike opponent spinners, Keshav Maharaj, the African front line spinner failed to make a similar impact. He needs to play a huge role for proteas success in the series as spin factor play major more than pace. South Africa will be aiming to bounce back and save the series.

Proteas after being comprehensively beaten on all three fronts in the last game will be looking for clinical performance to get a win and level the series. The visiting team is thin on the batting experience as they without the services of their veteran players who have recently retired. Unlike opponents, the African side would be relying heavily on their experienced player in the squad; Dena Elgar, Du Plessis, De Kock.

The batting duo needs to provide a good start against the formidable Indian side. Skipper Faf Du Plessis has been also in great touch in recent times, scored 372 runs from the last 10 innings. India is very intimidating at home conditions. Furthermore, they are very batting heavy sides. Their bowlers got all the skills to pick 20 wickets in a game. On the contrary, South Africa is thin on batting and bowling resources. They will all have to play out their skins to beat India in their fortress. Hence we predict India are outright favorites and will easily win the second game of the series.
