The match will be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. It is widely regarded as the most picturesque cricket stadium in the world. The ground is at a higher altitude and hence bowl comparatively travels faster.
Out of last four completed ODI, three times chasing team won the game whereas on lone occasion batting the first team won. Records are strongly in favour of chasing team and overcast conditions on the matchday support strongly to bowl first after winning the toss. We anticipate the team winning the toss will look to bowl first.
Both sides are extremely balanced and play tough cricket in recent times. India got highly ranked batsman and bowler in the ODI. Also, they possess many star performers in the side. On the other hand, South Africa got a good mix of a young and experienced player in the squad.
However, considering India’s record in their home conditions it will be difficult ask for South Africa to defeat India in their home conditions. Hence, we expect India will come out on top in the first game of the series.
