Host India will be looking to complete a clean sweep when they lock horns with South Africa in the third and final game of the Test series at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Saturday.
Virat Kohli and co. delivered a pitch-perfect performance with bat and ball to register a comprehensive win over South Africa in the second game of the Test series. With the series already in the bag, India will be looking to complete a whitewash over South Africa at Ranchi.
On the other hand, South Africa will need to raise their game with bat and ball in order to get something out of this fixture. With opener Aiden Makram and Keshav Maharaj ruled out of the final Test, the team management might bring in new players into the playing XI.

In the second Test, India beat South Africa by an innings and 137 runs, courtesy of the splendid performances from Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal and Umesh Yadav.
The big positive for India in this Test series has been the excellent form shown by the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal. The duo has scored over 600 runs collectively so far in this Test series. Sharma failed to produce runs in the previous game and would be keen to get big runs in this final game. Agarwal continued his rich vein of form and smashed a century to see India post a mammoth score in their first innings in the second game played at Pune. The team management will be hoping that Agarwal can maintain his consistency with the bat at the top of the innings.
The focus will certainly be on Indian Captain Virat Kohli, who scored a scintillating double century to help India take firm control of the game. Kohli scored unbeaten 254 runs off 336 balls with the help of thirty-three fours and two sixes. He will be determined to produce something special for India in this game as well. Besides Kohli’s double ton, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravendra Jadeja scored half-centuries to post 600 runs in their first innings.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on pace trio of Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ishant Sharma to make early inroads with the new-ball. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers and claimed six wickets in the second Test match played at Pune. Shami and Ishant also bowled well and picked up crucial wickets for the side in the previous game. The spin duo of Ravendra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin bowled well and picked up 10 wickets between them.

Faf du Plessis and co. suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of India in the second game played at Pune. With this series already lost, the visitors will be keen to put up a strong fight in this final game.
Pacer Lungi Ngidi will come in place of Anrich Nortje, who failed to make an impact with the new-ball. Middle-order batsman Zubayr Hamza will come in place of injured Aiden Markram, who suffered from wrist injury during the second game of the series. Dane Piedt will also be part of the playing XI as Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out of the final Test due to a shoulder injury.
In the batting department, the side will be depending on the experienced trio of Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, and Dean Elgar to deliver the bulk of the runs in this dead rubber. Dean Elgar could not do much with the bat in the previous game played at Pune. Left-hander will be determined to make a notable contribution with the bat for South Africa in this final game. Wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock will be promoted to open the innings for South Africa in this final game of the series. The 26-year old has opened the innings for the side in a Test match played against New Zealand in Centurion in 2016. De Kock has produced decent scores for the side in this series and would be produce something special with the bat in this dead rubber. Captain Faf du Plessis will need to bat at no.3 or 4 in the batting order if South Africa wants to get something out of this final game. Du Plessis will need to deliver big runs for South Africa in this final game of the series.
As far as the team news in the bowling department are concerned, South Africa will go in with three pacers – Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Vernon Philander.
