The 3rd match of the five-match series between India Women and South Africa Women was washed away by rain and now this is increased the pressure on the South African team ahead of the 4th game. They have to win this one to stay alive in the series. It was poor application while batting that saw them lose the first game.
India Women to don’t look at their best especially with the bat and this is likely to cause some worries in the squad. South Africa has won just once against their Indian counterparts on Indian soil and this is something that would be in the mind of the players as they head into this game. Indians would be looking to make most out of the home conditions but the rains would have hampered their plans a bit of taking on the South Africans with their spinners. The next game is thus expected to be competitive.

With two games washed away, Harmanpreet Kaur would want to make the most of the opportunity in the 4th game. A win here would bring the series in their kitty and this is what the skipper would be aiming for. Her bowlers are in excellent form and Kaur would expect the same from her batters going into this game.
Harmanpreet Kaur looked in good form in the first game but rest of the batting failed to deliver. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma at the top would be looking to make the opportunity count. The side has good batting down the order with Deepti Sharma, Veda Krishnamurthy and Jemimah Rodrigues all having been in good form. They would look to score briskly against the South African attack. In the bowling department, the Indian team looks absolutely brilliant at the moment with their three main bowlers Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav and Deepti Shama looking in great form at the moment. They would hope to see a better show from Pooja Vastrakar who went for a few runs in the last game. Kaur would also need to support the bowlers well in the upcoming game.
Smriti Mandhana, Veda Krishnamurthy, Taniya Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav, Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Pooja Vastrakar
Suné Luus’ team needs to win this game to stay alive in the series. The skipper would want her batters to avoid the mistakes they made in the first game of the series where they missed an easy opportunity to win the game. The side has got good talent and the skipper would want them to play to their potential in the next game. It was their batting that let them down in the first game and the side would need a good start from Tazmin Brits and Lizelle Lee in the game. Mignon du Preez played well in the last game and shall look to continue with the same form. The team would need good show from the likes of Laura Wolvaardt, Nadine de Klerk, Luus’ and Nondumiso Shangase towards the end of the innings and as they failed to impress in the first game. On the bowling front, the South African team is looking very strong at the moment. Ayabonga Khaka bowled superbly in the last game and was well supported by Shabnim Ismail and Tumi Sekhukhune. With Nondumiso Shangase, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Nadine de Klerk in the side they have good depth in their bowling and shall aim to trouble the Indian batters once again.

The weather forecast for October 01 doesn’t look good after two previous games were washed away. There are chances of rain for this game as well. The pitch which has soaked in lot of moisture would be a difficult one to bat on. The side batting first would be happy to put up a score of 150 runs on the board.
Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat isn’t the best wicket to bat on. The fast bowlers get decent bargain from the surface and the batters need to be choosy about their stroke play. The spinners have done well on this surface when the ball is dry which is going to be a challenge in the next game.
With the predictions of rains during the game the side batting second would have an advantage in a rain reduced game. The pitch would be a difficult one to bat on in the early overs. This makes it an ideal wicket to bowl first and that’s what the skipper winning the toss is most likely to decide.
It will be a big game for South Africa Women which they need to win to level the series and take the decider to the last game. Their batting looked inept in the last game and this is something the side would look to improve upon. The India Women team also does have its worry with the batting after they failed in the last game however they have a good bowling attack. Going into this game Indian Women would start as favorites thanks to their overall form and knowledge of the conditions.
