With three consecutive wins and a fourth on the trot, India Women go as one of the hot favorites for the ICC World T20 title and will play hard to continue their winning show in the forthcoming duel. Be it batting, bowling or fielding, the Harmanrpreet Kaur-led side has got all their boxes checked, something that other teams have been failing to achieve in the ongoing T20 tournament.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Women haven’t been able to muster a sole win so far and thus, they are seated at the fourth spot with an NRR of -0.609. They have been struggling as a batting unit and it is about time they level up their performances else they might lose out their chances of making it to the knockouts.

Shafali Verma has been one of the most destructive batters in the ongoing edition of Women’s T20 World Cup and is currently among the highest run-getters for India Women in the games played so far. Against New Zealand, Shafali scored a 34-ball 46 with 4-fours and 3-sixes and tore apart the opposition attack in the powerplays. Smriti Mandhana and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur have had a hot and cold run in the matches played so far. They need to come up with a consistent show from the coming game onwards for India Women to get past the semi-finals.
Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues are quite potent down the middle. The duo’s big-hitting ability from the very moment on the crease is something that can add those extra 20-30 runs to the team’s total. Poonam Yadav (1/32) was a bit expensive in the previous contest and will look to better her numbers in the much-coveted encounter.
Right arm medium Shikha Pandey (1/21) and spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad (1/22) scalped impressive numbers and along with Poonam Yadav will be the players to keep an eye upon in the bowling department.

Chamari Athapaththu played a captain’s knock in the last outing against Australia wherein she scored 50 off 38 deliveries with 7-fours and 2-sixes. She has been the biggest positive in the batting department and will be entrusted with the task of getting the big shots on board. Hasini Perera and Umesha Thimashini couldn’t score much in the previous games and it is high time they render decent knocks whilst batting at the top-order and take the team to a decent scoreline in the powerplays.
Anushka Sanjeewani and Nikashi de Silva have shown signs of learning since the T20 warmups and could play a crucial role in Sri Lanka in case the top-order topples. In the bowling department, all eyes would be on left-arm pacer Udeshika Prabodhani as she was the top-performer with figures of 2/17 in her quota of four overs. Spinners Shashikala Siriwardene (2/20) and Kavisha Dilhari (0/20) came up with economical exhibitions and will be backed by the team to replicate their numbers at Junction Oval.

It will be a mostly sunny day at Junction Oval in the first half while the second half will witness cloud cover. The temperature would glide between 20-23 degrees Celsius. No rains are being depicted for the upcoming contest ensuring 20-overs of play in each innings.
The wicket at Junction Oval isn’t generally a high scoring one. Any scoreline between 130-140 would be a par total on this venue. Batters should look to capitalize as early as possible as it would be the bowlers who are likely to go full throttle in the latter stages.
The toss winning team should look to bat first on this occasion. The majority of matches played in the concurrent edition of the T20 World Cup have been won by the team batting first. Moreover, the overcast conditions in the second half might make it difficult for the batters to go for the big-hits.
Without an iota of doubt, India Women go as the favorites for the coming T20. They have played exceptionally well in the ongoing tournament and with their sheer experience in the shortest format, they clear look as a far competent side on paper compared to Sri Lanka Women who are still struggling to come up with a winning combination.
