The 28th game of ongoing CPL tournament will be played between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents. It’s dead rubber game for both the teams as Barbados Tridents are already out of the tournament and Jamaica Tallawahs even after winning their remaining games including this, they won't be able to make it into top two. Jamaica Tallawahs has been the second most successful team in the CPL so far as they played the playoffs in previous six out of seven seasons. Besides, they already made to playoffs in the ongoing CPL season. At the top, Gleen Philipps has got tremendous success in batting. He was a leading scorer for the side in last year and continued his good form in this season as well. Barbados Tridents started a CPL 2020 season with a bang however in the later games the defending champion has failed to live up to the expectation. Tridents have lost chasing the below-par scorer as well as defending the decent score. Their top ranks players have failed to perform collectively and consistently. Hence, they have failed to make it to knockout. However, playing their last game of the season, Tridents are expected to play fearless cricket, right from the first ball.
In the batting department, from last seven games, KR Mayers smashed 222 runs at an average of 24.66and J Charles smashed 214 runs with an average 23.77. Batting duo has done most of the scoring for the side in previous games and the team will be relying heavily on this two. However, the batting duo got very less assistance from other batsmen in their side. Shai Hope, the Tridents most established batsmen have failed miserably; he has scored just 118 runs at a strike rate of 88.72. He is Windies most successful player in recent times and got plenty of experience playing in T20. His will be aiming to go big in his last game of the season.
Tridents side is known for the great all-rounders in their unit; Corey Anderson, Jason Holder, Ashly Nurse and M Santner. All these players got plenty of experience playing in T20 league, however, they failed to perform in a group and that the main reason behind Tridets failure this season. In the bowling, Tridents got ICC T20I top-ranked bowler, Rashid Khan. He is a very talented and skilful bowler, its very difficult to score against his bowling. However, he is not at his best so far this season, his biggest ability is to get a crucial breakthrough for his side. But Rashid Khan picked just 9 wickets from seven games. M Santner will be another good spin all-rounder in Trident unit. J holder and R Rifer picked 17 wickets between them.
