In the 10th game of the Caribbean Premier League 2019, Jamaica Tallawahs will take on the defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders at their home ground Sabina Park, Jamaica. The hosts have had a bad run in the season so far and lost all their three games and need to win this one desperately. It has been a contrasting story for the Knight Riders who have already stamped their authority with three consecutive wins this season.
Earlier in the season, the Knight Riders had defeated the Tallawahs by 22 runs and this will surely play in the minds of the hosts whose performance so far has been found wanting on all fronts especially their bowling. It is a must-win game for the Tallawahs to stay relevant in the points table and it would be interesting to see how they approach the game

Chris Gayle would be extremely upset with the performance of his bowlers in the last game. For two consecutive games now the bowling unit has let the side down. With three losses so far the side is sitting in the bottom of the table and needs to win this game to keep their chances alive of getting into the play-offs of the season.
Their batting line-up is strong and Glenn Phillips played a good knock in the last game and Chris Gayle has already smashed a hundred in the season. Chadwick Walton, Rovman Powell and George Worker form a good middle order for the side. With someone like Andre Russell batting low the side packs a good punch in its batting and shall challenge the Knight Riders’ bowlers.
In the last two games, the side has conceded close to 420 runs in 35 overs and this says about the form their bowlers are in at the moment. Oshane Thomas has been an exception but other bowlers have failed miserably so far. The likes of Jerome Taylor, Derval Green and Shamar Springer will need to check their line and length in the next game.

Kieron Pollard is leading inspirationally this season and he would be extremely happy with the way his side has played so. They have justified the pre-tournament favorites tag winning all the three games. The absence of their regular skipper Dwayne Bravo hasn’t been felt yet. Pollard would want his side to continue with the same form going into the next game.
Batting is looking rock solid for the side with Lendl Simmons in great form. Sunil Narine has also contributed well at the top. Tion Webster and Denesh Ramdin form a very strong middle order for the side. The presence of Pollard and James Neesham at the end of the innings just makes the batting extremely powerful for the side. These players will look to carry on with the same momentum into the next game.
Bowling wise Sunil Narine is having a great season as was expected from him. The skipper would be impressed to see the form of James Neesham and Mohammad Hasnain who have troubled the opponents in the last two games. Seekkuge Prasanna, Pollard and Khary Pierre will be looking bowl tighter spells in the next game.

It will be clear skies at Jamaica on the evening of September 13 with slightly humid conditions. The pitch played well in the first game at this venue where the ball came on to the bat nicely. The fast bowlers weren’t as effective but the spinners will get a bargain from the surface. The side batting first would need a score in excess of 170 runs on this surface.
VENUE
Sabina Park, Jamaica is a flat surface and has seen several high scoring games over the last few seasons. The bounce on this surface is true and this allows the batsmen to free their arms easily. There isn’t much for the fast bowlers on this surface though the spinners do get decent turn and bounce.
The pitch is expected to remain good for batting throughout the course of the game but as the game progresses into the night the bowlers might get more assistance. The side winning the toss would like to bat first on this surface and put up a big score on the board.
It will be a game of two sides that have had contrasting fortunes so far in the season. Hosts Jamaica Tallawahs have lost all their three games so far while the Trinbago Knight Riders have won all three. The problem for the Tallawahs has been their ordinary bowling attack which has let them down through their batsmen have looked in good form. The hosts have the ability to bounce back but Knight Riders are on song and a better bowling attack will make them favorites to win this game.
