Malaysia would be opening their campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Region Final when they meet Kuwait at the Indian Association Ground, Singapore. The teams had finished at the bottom of the table in ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier for Eastern and Western sub-regions. The two teams have are a mix of young and experienced campaigners and would be looking to do well in the game.
It would be the first time the two sides would meet in an ICC T20 game and hence both the sides are likely to put in their best effort. Malaysia has previously played in Singapore and would have a better understanding of the conditions. Kuwait on the other has exciting players in its ranks and this should set up a good T20 contest.

Muhammad Kashif is leading a good team and they have done well among the associate nations in the recent tournaments. The team has a good mix of batsmen and bowlers and they would be looking to do well in this tournament.
Leading the batting line-up is skipper Muhammad Kashif and the mainstay of the batting along with Usman Waheed. They have a quality middle-order going into this game that includes the likes of Arjun Makesh, Mohammed Asghar, Yasar Idrees and Ali Zaheer. All these players have good hitting abilities which make the side a strong batting unit.
The bowling attack is also decent for the team with led by Sajid Manzil and Faiz Ahmad. Azmatullah Nazeer, Ravija Sandaruwan and Arjun Makesh have also done well with the ball in the last tournament and shall look to restrict the Malaysian side to a low score in this game.

Ahmed Faiz’s team is packed with talent and it is great to see a young team take giant strides. The skipper would be confident about the prospects of his side going into this game. They have done well in the recent past and would like to play well as a unit in conditions familiar to them.
Batting is the strong point for the Malaysian side as they have Shafiq Sharif and Syed Aziz in the side and the two have done well in the recent games. Suhan Alagaratnam, Ahmed Faiz, Muhamad Syahadat and Anwar Arudin make the batting line-up look very strong for the team going into this game.
In the bowling department, Muhammad Wafiq and Anwar Rahman have done well for the team in the recent games. Sharvin Muniandy and Pavandeep Singh add great variety to the attack and they would be looking to make the Kuwaiti side struggle in the next game.

There are chances of rain on July 22 at Singapore and the skies are expected to remain heavy during the game. The fast bowlers would enjoy playing in these conditions. The pitch, however, has been a good one to bat on and the side batting first would need a score around the 160 run mark.
VENUE
A small ground by international standards the Indian Association Ground, Singapore is a great venue for T20 cricket. Hitting boundaries on this ground are easy and batsmen enjoy playing here. Fast bowlers get some assistance from the surface in the initial overs while spinners come into play at a later stage.
Given the prediction for overcast conditions during the match, batting won’t be easy and in the event of rains, the side batting second would have the advantage of knowing the target in advanced. We expect the side winning the toss to bowl first on this surface.
It is always a challenge picking up the better of two sides at the start of the T20 competition. Kuwait and Malaysia haven’t played against each other in the past and have similar strength in terms of team selection. Malaysia has a better understanding of the conditions and also a better bowling line-up in comparison to Kuwait. This would make them favorites going into this game.
