Kuwait recovered from the lows to earn a well-deserved victory over Qatar in the last game. It was T20 batting of the highest order from the side. In the next game of the CC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Region Final, they would be facing Nepal the toughest opponent in the tournament. Nepal though hasn’t looked at their best in the two games they have played so far losing the first one against Qatar before winning the last one against Malaysia.
Nepal has a very experienced line-up with many of their players representing T20 franchise leagues around the world. What Kuwait lacks with experience the team would have to make up with the strong determination and their captain is showing them the way. It will be an interesting battle in the middle between the two sides.

Muhammad Kashif would be very happy with the way his side played against Qatar. They won the game against a much stronger opponent which would have made them extremely happy. Nepal would be a stronger opponent and the skipper would be looking forward to seeing the same spirit from his team.
It was excellent batting show by the top order in the game with openers Ravija Sandaruwan and Meet Bhavsar doing well and supported by Adnan Idrees. The star of the innings was skipper Kashif playing a wonderful cameo towards the end with wicketkeeper Usman Waheed supporting him and makes their batting look very strong.
Mohammad Aslam did well with the ball in the last game and proved to be the difference between the two sides. Other bowlers went for runs though Jandu Hamoud was able to trouble the opponents. The likes of Ilyas Ahmed, Kashif, and Mohammad Ahsan will have to bowl tighter lines against the strong bowling line-up that Nepal has.
Muhammad Kashif (c), Usman Waheed, Ravija Sandaruwan, Meet Bhavsar, Adnan Idrees, Shiraz Khan, Bilal Tahir, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Ahsan, Ilyas Ahmed, Jandu Hamoud
Gyanendra Malla led the side to a win against Malaysia in absence of regular skipper Paras Kadka who is injured. His participation in the next game is still doubtful. Malla would have been proud of the way his side played in the rain reduced game and would like his side to continue the same way in the next game.
Gyanendra Malla did well scoring a quick-fire fifty in the last game and was well supported by Pradeep Airee and Binod Bhandari. Nepal has a strong batting line-up with the likes of Dipendra Singh Airee, Sarad Vesawkar and Karan KC in the squad and the team would look up to them to bat well.
It was a good bowling show by Nepalese side in the last game where Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane did well. They also received good support from Basant Regmi, Karan KC and Abinash Bohara in the game. They have a good bowling attack and would look to apply pressure on the Kuwait batsmen.
Gyanendra Malla (C), Pradeep Airee, Binod Bhandari, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sarad Vesawkar, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Basant Regmi, Sompal Kami, Abinash Bohara, Rohit Paudel
There are predictions for slightly overcast conditions in Singapore on July 27. The pitch has seen several high scoring encounters with the ball coming onto the bat nicely. We expect to have a good pitch for batting in the next game. The side batting first will need to put up a big score on the board to win this one.
VENUE
The Indian Association Ground, Singapore is a good venue for T20 cricket where lots of runs are scored. The pitch has true bounce and pace where the ball comes on to the bat nicely. The fast bowlers don’t have any margin for error on this track. It is only in the latter stages of the game that the spinners come into play.
The last few games have been high scoring encounters and the pitch has got slower as the game progresses when spinners have come into play. The side winning the toss is most likely to bat first on this surface and would look to put up huge runs on the board and win it.
It was a strong comeback from Kuwait in the last game after they had suffered a huge loss in the first game of the tournament. Nepal too has lost one game and won one so far. Kuwait’s performance in the last game would have rung alarm bells in the Nepalese camp as they had started as pre-tournament favorites. There is little to choose between the two sides at the moment but Nepal given their experience would start as favorites in this game.
Back Nepal for the win!
