The LYCA Kovai Kings is one of the two franchises who have reached the knockout phase of the competition in last three seasons of the tournament. However, they failed to reach the finals in either season. They would be looking for another milestone in this season as well. On the other hand, Kanchi Veerans are rather one of the underperforming teams of the TNPL and have been failing to deliver consistent performances in all earlier editions on TNPL. Lyca Kovai Kings team has been one of the most consistent sides in the league. In batting, the team is relying heavily upon their key player Shahrukh Khan and Abhinav Mukund. Skipper Abhinav Mukund has been in tremendous form in the domestic season and has great experience of playing in T-20 leagues. He will be looking to lead the team from the front.
M Shahrukh Khan has stormed into the limelight in the previous season. His possesses great skills to take apart bowling attacks in the Power Play. In TNPL 2018, the 23-year-old blitzed 325 runs at a rapid strike-rate of 141.30. He would be eying to make a similar impact in this season as well.
On the bowling front, Thangarasu Natarajan was impressive in the 2018 TNPL season. The left-arm pacer finished the tournament as its most consistent bowler. He was the highest wicket take for Kovai Kings, took 12 wickets with an average of 12.41. He has the great ability to win the match on his own with the impressive spell. Krishnamoorthy Vignesh and S Ajith Ram will be the other quality bowlers in the side.

In the last three season, young and talented skipper Baba Aparajith has been the top scorer for the Side. Ones again, the team is relying heavily on him to make most of the runs. Veteran Rajagopal Satish has been the great addition to the side in this season. He had a great last season for Tuti Patriots, slammed 233 runs at a majestic average of 77.66 and sparkling strike-rate of 182.03. The right-hander has a great experience of playing in various national leagues. He will be looking to make a similar impact for the new franchise Kanchi Veerans.
Mokit Hariharan and Francis Rokins also showed great temperament in batting in the previous season. A good form of this batting duo is imperative for team success. Spinner Aushik Srinivas was the architect of their only win in the previous season.
