We are in the final stage of the league games in the Vincy Premier League 2020 and the 22nd game will see the La Soufriere Hikers take on the Fort Charlotte Strikers.
The Hikers have earned their place in the semifinals with six wins in seven games. While the Strikers registered their first win of the season in the last game and have lost all hopes of making it to the next round. La Soufriere Hikers won the last game by 8 wickets against the Botanic Gardens Rangers in what was another convincing victory for them.
The Strikers surprised everyone to win the last game against the Dark View Explorers by 17 runs. They had lost the last game against the Hikers and it remains to be seen if they are able to turn it around in the next game.

Desron Maloney’s side has had a great sun so far and continued with the good form in the last game where they won by 8 wickets against the Botanic Gardens Rangers. Having already defeated the Strikers earlier in the season the team will be looking to continue with its good show and gather momentum ahead of the semifinals.
Their batsmen are in good form especially opener Salvan Browne. He will look to provide a good start in the company of Tilran Harry who also did well in the last game. Dillon Douglas and Maloney are hitting the ball well adding to their batting strength. With the likes of Cosmus Hackshaw and Rayan Williams to follow the side has good strength in its batting.
As far as the bowling unit is concerned Othneil Lewis is enjoying a great run at the moment and shall look for wickets with the new ball. Jeremy Haywood and Kimson Dalzell have also bowled well so far. The skipper along with Rayan Williams will look to keep the line tight in the next game.
It was finally something to cheer about for the Strikers as they registered their first win of the season defeating the Dark View Explorers by 17 runs in the last game. Gidron Pope who took over the captaincy from Keron Cottoy would like his side to restore some pride winning the upcoming game against one of the strongest sides in the tournament.
Sealroy Williams and Olanzo Bellingy batted well at the top which is welcome news for the side and pair will need to put up a good stand in the next game for the side to win. Gidron Pope, Kirton Lavia, and Ronald Scott will have to do well in the middle order for the side. It will be important for the batsmen to stick to the crease which they have failed in most of the games so far.
Ray Jordan has been bowling consistent line and length in the tournament and it was good to see Rasheed Fredericks hit form in the last game. But the side will need to see tighter lines from the likes of Chelson Stowe, Sealroy Williams, and Kirton Lavia who haven’t been all that consistent in the season.

The conditions would be cloudy over St. Vincent on May 29 and this is something bowlers would love on a good pitch. The track has so far played well and the batsmen have been able to hit through the line. We expect the side batting first to eye a score of around 100 runs to give some breathing room to its bowlers.
It is a small park at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St. Vincent and this favors batsmen who are willing to play their strokes. Fast bowlers do find some assistance from the surface early on in the game. Spinners have done well at this venue as the odd ball tends to stop and keep low.
The story so far in the tournament has been of sides batting first going onto win most of the games. The format of the game favors sides that put up a big score on the board and going into this game we expect the skipper to have no hesitation in batting first upon winning the toss.
La Soufriere Hikers have had a wonderful run so far and apart from one loss in the tournament they have looked in great form. The side has its batsmen and bowlers playing complementary roles. The Fort Charlotte Strikers on the other hand have struggled with their form and have managed just one win so far. Given the contrasting forms of the two sides, we expect La Soufriere Hikers to start favorites in this game.
