Mumbai Indians aim for record fifth IPL title against Delhi Capitals

Resurgent Delhi Capitals will take on in-form Mumbai Indians in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Dubai on Tuesday.
Both teams finished the preliminary stages as number one and two on the points table, and have already clashed three times in the competition where Mumbai have managed to come out on top in all three occasions.
Three-time Champions Mumbai registered a comprehensive win over Delhi Capitals to seal their place in the grand finale. Captain Rohit Sharma will be hoping that the side can bring their A-game to the table in order to successfully defend their crown and win the coveted trophy for a record fifth time.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals put in an outstanding effort to overcome Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 game and reach the finals for the first time in the history of Indian Premier League. Captain Shreyas Iyer will be hoping that players can bring their best cricket forward and help Delhi Capitals win their maiden IPL Trophy.

Mumbai Indians outclassed Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in the Qualifier 1 game, courtesy magnificent performances from Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals registered an impressive win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 game to qualify for their maiden IPL final.
In the batting department, the team management will be depending on the likes of opener Shikhar Dhawan, who is franchises’ highest run-getter in the competition with 603 runs in 15 matches. Dhawan is well-supported by captain Shreyas Iyer, who scored 454 runs in 16 matches at an average of 30.26.
Besides Dhawan and Iyer, Australia’s Marcus Stoinis has done an excellent job for Delhi Capitals this season and scored 352 runs in 16 matches with three half-centuries to his name.
In Qualifier 1 game, Marcus Stoinis was promoted to open the innings for Delhi Capitals. The strategy worked as Stoinis smashed a quick-fire 38 off 27 balls to help Delhi get off to an excellent start.
For Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan was the standout player with the bat and finished the innings with the top-score of 78 runs off 50 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. He was well supported by the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Shreyas Iyer, who registered crucial scores of 42 not out and 21 runs respectively.
In the bowling department, the team management will be banking on pacer Kagiso Rabada to lead the way in this final. He is currently topped the bowling charts in the competition with 29 wickets in 16 matches. In Qualifier 1 game, Rabada was the standout bowler for the side and finished with four wickets to his name.
South Africa’s Anrich Nortje has been a revelation for Delhi Capitals in his first season and claimed 20 wickets in 15 matches.
