CRICBETTINGBUZZ PREDICTION: Belagavi Panthers to win
T&Cs apply, 18+
Mysuru Warriors and Belagavi Panthers coming from losses from their previous games will look forward to getting off the mark in the victory column in this edition of the tournament. Both teams while chasing competitive totals lost wickets in the powerplay and both had to play catch up for the rest of the innings and fell short of the total by a few runs. The two teams will be expecting a better performance from their top order and provide good starts so that the long batting lineups of both teams can capitalize on it.
The bowling attacks of both teams have been fairly decent with good performances from Devaiah and Zahoor Farooqui. The middle-order batsmen for both teams have had to get the innings back on track after disastrous starts in the powerplay. Abhinav Manohar and Ritesh Bhatkal for the Panthers and KV Siddharth for the Warriors showed glimpses of their batting talents and kept their team in the game and came very close to successfully chasing the total down.

The Mysuru Warriors have had 1 point from their first 2 games after a washout and a loss. The bowlers did well to restrict the Shivamogga Lions to a decent total after they had a great start and looked for something way higher. The batters however with the exception of opener KV Siddharth did not come to the party and so ended 14 runs short. Devaiah was impressive with his bowling for the Warriors and will look for support from his fellow bowlers.
Key Players :
Krishnamurthy Siddharth: The Karnataka Ranji player who had an excellent Ranji season started off the KPL in a similar fashion almost single-handedly dragging the Warriors to an unlikely victory over the Shivamogga Lions. He scored 77 in 54 balls and was the last batsmen out for his team. He will look to continue his good form and will expect better support from the other batsmen in the team.
Jagadeesha Suchith: The left-arm spinner who became the highest wicket-taker in the history of the competition will look forward to carrying on with his good performances. The player who’s part of the Delhi Daredevils setup in the IPL will also look to score important runs in the middle order and guide his team to respectable scores. He’s also dynamite in the field and will look to contribute with his fielding as well.

The Belagavi Panthers will be disappointed by not able to chase down the total against the Bellary Tuskers when their much-vaunted batting lineup came up short. The bowlers had done a decent job to restrict the Tuskers but the Panther batsmen lost early wickets in the powerplay and even though the middle and lower order batsmen tried to get close to the total, they ultimately ended a few short.
Key Players:
Abhinav Manohar: The hard hitting middle-order batsmen was bought in the auction for a high price and will look to repay the faith of the team management. The batsmen capable of scoring some huge sixes looked set in the company of Ritesh Bhatkal to win the Panthers from a losing cause before his wicket ended the Panther’s hopes. With a strong lineup with steady players, Manohar will be expected to provide the finishing touches to the innings and score quick runs at the end of the innings.
Shubang Hegde: The young allrounder who has played for the India U19 team was retained by the Panthers before this year’s auctions. He is expected to lead the spin attack on pitches which will assist him. He can also be useful with the bat and can provide quick runs at the end of the innings.

The pitches have tended to play well and provided good assistance for both the batsmen and the bowlers. The constant overnight rains have meant pitches have been a little damp and the ball has not come on to the bat and run scoring has been slightly difficult at the start of the innings with the new ball. The rains are expected to play a part during the matches and DLS system will always be in the back of the mind of the players.
VENUE
The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore is usually a batter’s paradise with flat decks, short boundaries, and lightning-quick out fields. However with the city getting regular rains and the fresh pitch at the start of the tournament might make the contest a lot more even and bring the bowlers in the game. The ground staff is quite efficient in getting the game started after a rain interruption, so not many overs should be lost.
The captain winning the toss will like to chase on an unknown fresh pitch. The pitch might initially assist the seamers and the captain winning the toss will like to make the most of it. Also because there is a constant threat of rain and the DLS method is always a chance, the team chasing a target will be having an advantage.
Both teams come into this game needing a win to get going in this tournament and will be looking for this match as an opportunity to win their first games. The teams have lengthy batting lineups with batsmen all the way till No.9. However on paper, the batting explosiveness of the Belagavi Panthers is more than the Mysuru Warriors and with both bowling attack being equal, will give the Panthers an advantage.
The explosive potential of the Belagavi Panthers should see them win this game against the Mysuru Warriors.
