The 4th match of the Karnataka Premier League 2019 will see the Mysuru Warriors lock horns against the Shivamogga Lions. The Warriors come into this game after seeing their opening encounter against the Bengaluru Blasters being abandoned by rain. The Shivamogga Lions meanwhile have started their campaign with a win against Hubli Tigers in their first game of the season.
The Mysuru Warriors had won the game between the two sides in the last season but a lot has changed since then. But it has been a good start for the Lions in the first game where they did well both with the bat and the ball. It will be an interesting encounter as both sides have quality players in their squad.

Amit Verma would be happy with the way his side bowled in the last game till rains halted play. They did bowl a tight line and didn’t allow the Bengaluru Blasters to get off the hook. With the Lions having shown good form in their opening game his side would have to play well in the next game.
Aniruddha Joshi and Shoaib Manager will need to provide the side a good start in the game against the good bowling attack that the lions have. Dega Nischal, Vinay Sagar and Kishan S Bedare are good players in the middle order and the skipper would want them to play their natural game in the middle.
Their bowlers did well in the last game with Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Devaiah bowling tight line at the start of the innings. Jagadeesha Suchith was a miser with his spell picking up 3 wickets for the side. Praveera Venkatesh Murthy and Verma complete a good bowling line-up for the team.

Abhimanyu Mithun would have been relieved to win the first game of the season convincingly against Hubli Tigers. His side had failed to win a single game last season and this performance would have come as a welcome relief. Having their tails up he would want his players to continue the same momentum going into the next game.
Nihal Ullal was brilliant at the top-scoring a gritty 88 and setting up the win for the side. Pavan Deshpande and Akshay Ballal also played handy knocks in the middle. The side boasts of a good batting line-up where they have Arjun Hoysala and Sujit N Gowda in their squad with both these players being good strikers of the ball.
Their bowling attack was professional in the last game where HS Sharath and Rishab Singh bowled tight lines. Abhimanyu Mithun and Prithviraj Shekhawat were also good with the ball in the last game. Pradeep T went for runs in the last one and he would be looking to make amends in the next game.

There are chances of slight rains on August 18 at Bengaluru. It has been an uncharacteristic wicket in the two games that have been played so far where the pitch has assisted the bowlers. It is likely to be the same for the next game and a score of 160 runs and above would be a good one on this surface.
VENUE
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru has always been one of the best batting wickets in India where it is easy to hit the ball through the line. The smaller boundaries also make it easy to play big shots. The bowlers have to leverage the assistance they get in early parts of the game
With the rains and overcast conditions, the pitch is likely to assist the fast bowlers in the initial overs of the game. The pitch is likely to become easy to bat on as the game progresses. We expect the side winning the toss to put the opposition into bat and try and win it.
Shivamogga Lions would go into this game beaming with confidence after the impressive show they put in the last game. As for the Mysuru Warriors, it would be a game they would like to win and go up in the points table. With one game washed away, they already have their backs to the wall. Lions have momentum on their side and this would put them slightly ahead of the Warriors going into this game.
We expect Shivamogga Lions to win the game!
