Hosts Netherlands would take on United Arab Emirates in the first game of the four-match T20i series at VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen. The hosts would be confident about their prospects going into this game after having played well against Zimbabwe in the last series at home. The United Arab Emirates would also come into this game with confidence having won the last series against the United States of America.
The Netherlands has dominated the three games that the sides have played in the past winning all of them comfortably. It will be a big challenge for UAE as they would be playing in conditions where they haven’t done well in the past. With young players joining both the sides it would be an interesting game to watch.

Pieter Seelaar would be a happy man with the kind of performance his team has been putting up in the recent games. There has been a constant improvement in their performances over the last couple of seasons. The side would start confidently in this game and would be looking to draw first blood.
The batting order looks very strong for the side with Max O’Dowd and Stephan Myburgh at the top and both these players have done well in the recent games. They have good middle order in Ben Cooper and Scott Edwards and would be looking to make the most out of their familiarity with the conditions.
The bowling line-up also looks pretty strong for the side with Sebastiaan Braat and Hidde Overdijk in the squad. Going into this game the skipper would want his bowlers to make the best use of the conditions and trouble the UAE batsmen who aren’t comfortable in seaming conditions.

The weather predictions for Amstelveen on August 03 is for clear skies and this would make conditions perfect for a game. However recent rains would have made the pitch little slower and batsmen would have to be watchful. The side batting first would need to put up a score around 160 runs to win this one.
VENUE
VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen has been a good ground for the fast bowlers as the pitch offers assistance in the early overs. Batsmen have also done well in the last few games at this venue and the shorter straight boundaries make hitting over the park easy.
The sides batting first at this venue have won the last six out of eight games and by huge margins in most games. The pitch tends to get slower as the game progresses and the side winning the toss would have an upper hand in batting first.
The two teams are packed with talent at the start of the game. The United Arab Emirates have done well in the last few tournaments and now back to full strength they look very strong. The Netherlands would start confidently as they are playing in their home conditions where the side has done pretty well in recent times. Having never lost to UAE in a T20 game they would start as favorites to win this one.
