It is the fourth game of the Mzansi Super League 2019 where Nelson Mandela Bay Giants would be starting their campaign as they take on Jozi Stars at their home ground St George's Park, Port Elizabeth. Jozi Stars come into this game having suffered a loss against Cape Town Blitz in their last game. It was a high scoring encounter where Stars did put up a good fight but failed to cross the finishing line. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants didn’t have the best of the season last year where struggled to play well as a team and would be looking to correct this time around. Jozi Stars are a good side and they displayed that in the last game. It will require a complete team performance on part of the Bay Giants to win this game and start this season on the right note.

JJ Smuts would want to put the setback of the last season behind as his side plays at home in its first game for the season. He is leading an exciting bunch of players and would want them to show their determination and play well as a team against a strong opponent. A win here would add to their confidence for the rest of the season. JJ Smuts played well with the bat last season and would be looking to start from where he had left.
Jason Roy at the top adds punch to the batting like-up where they have good players in the form of Marco Marais, Farhaan Behardien and Heino Kuhn. Chris Morris and Onke Nyaku will be expected to do the big-hitting towards the end of the innings. As far as bowling goes the side would expect to see good start from Junior Dala and Beuran Hendricks with the new ball. Dala has a great season last year and with Imran Tahir, in the side, the bowling attack looks strong. Chris Morris and Nyaku will have to avoid leaking runs in the middle overs for the side.
Nandre Burger, Junior Dala, Onke Nyaku, Heino Kuhn, Jason Roy, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Imran Tahir, Matthew Breetzke, JJ Smuts, Ben Dunk
Temba Bavuma would be upset having failed in their opening game of the season against Cape Town Blitz but the skipper would like to look at the positives from the last game. Their batting was superb in the game. The skipper would want his bowlers to check their line in the next game and register their first win of the season. Batting looked good form the side in the last game with Reeza Hendricks in superb form. Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen also played well in the game and this would increase the confidence of the side. They would need a good start from the big man Chris Gayle in the game and also expect the likes of Daniel Christian and Ryan Rickelton to make contributions towards the end of the innings.
In the bowling department, the side has to pull up its socks. Other than Daniel Christian none of the other bowlers troubled the opponents in the last game. Kagiso Rabada will have to pick up early wickets along with Simon Harmar. They would also expect better efforts with the ball from Dane Paterson and Duanne Olivier in the next game.
Ryan Rickelton, DT Christian, SR Harmer, Rassie van der Dussen, Delano Potgieter, Aaron Phangiso, Reeza Hendricks, Temba Bavuma, Kagiso Rabada, Dane Paterson, Chris Gayle
The weather would be by and large good with odd clouds at Port Elizabeth on November 10. It is a newly laid surface and hence there would be some assistance for the fast bowlers. Batsmen have to be cautious in the early overs of the game but runs would come thick and fast on this surface.
St George's Park, Port Elizabeth has been one of the best wickets to bowl for the fast bowlers as there is seam and swing. Ball comes onto the bat nicely and hence stroke makers have done well on most occasions. Spinners have to bowl real hard on this surface to get their rewards.
The wicket is expected to offer assistance to the fast bowlers in the early overs of the game and would get better as the game progresses. The side that wins the toss would look to bowl first and exploit the early juice on the surface and get their opponents out for a low total.
Jozi Stars didn’t start the season as they would have liked but there were several positives for the side when it came to their batting in the first game. As for the hosts Paarl Rocks, it would be a game under pressure as they are playing at home against one of the best sides this season. The batting line-up for the Jozi Stars looks very strong and hence they would start as favorites in this game.
