New Zealand

The home side will not make any changes to their playing XI for this second T20I to be played at Napier.

In the series opener, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision proved to be a correct one as the home side managed to post a daunting 210 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For New Zealand, Devon Conway was the star of the show with the bat. The rookie played well and finished the innings with unbeaten 92 off 52 balls. He was well supported by Will Young, who smashed 53 runs in his debut game.

Besides Conway and Young, opener Martin Guptill went on the charge against Bangladesh bowlers and produced a fluent 35 runs off 27 balls. Glenn Phillips, who produced a late blitz for New Zealand and chipped in with 24 not out off 10 balls.

In the bowling department, onus will be on the pace trio of Hamish Bennett, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson to make crucial breakthroughs.

After a long hiatus, Lockie Ferguson showed excellent form for New Zealand and picked important wickets of Mohammad Naim and Afif Hossain.

Bangladesh

The visitors definitely lack experience in the batting department as the likes of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, who are missing the T20I series, due to various reasons.

To compound their problems, Mushfiqur Rahim suffered from an injury in the final ODI and sat on the sidelines for the T20I series opener. It will be interesting to whether Rahim gets fit in time for the remaining two matches of the T20I series.

In the batting department, the side will be relying on Captain Mahmudullah Riyad, wicket-keeper Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar to deliver the bulk of the runs.

In the previous game, Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar perished for low scores. The team management will be hoping that Das and Sarkar can come up with decent scores in this crucial game.

Surprisingly, batting all-rounder Afif Hossain was the lone warrior with the bat. He played well and finished the innings with the top-score of 45 runs off 33 balls with the help of five boundaries and one six. He was well supported by tail-ender Mohammad Saifuddin, who chipped in with 34 runs with the help of three fours and one six.

In the bowling department, the side will be relying on the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan to pick up wickets in this game.
