New Zealand seems to have no clues on what could take them past the finishing line. They are losing the matches despite scoring 200 plus score (in the first T20) or leveling India’s total of 179 in 20 overs of the third T20. The heroics of Rohit Sharma (65 runs in 20 overs innings plus 15 runs in the super over) denied the hosts the win, also sealed the series in favor of India. This was another heart-breaking super-over for the hosts, after the ICC World Cup 2019 Final match.
Sharma’s innings just overshadowed Williamson’s brilliant innings of 95, which was also his second half-century of the series. Though Kohli aims for 5-0 series win, he seems to be in favor of giving some game time to the likes of Washington Sundar, or Navdeep Saini.

Unfortunately for New Zealand, the series is already lost, despite the skipper’s efforts to win the match with his 48-balls 95 runs innings in the third T20I match. The loss was the third in a row for the hosts, as they faced defeats in the first T20 after putting up 203 runs batting first, and in the second T20 their batsmen barely made 132 runs, only to lose by 7 wickets.
New Zealand played very well as they wanted a win the third T20 game to save the series. The scores leveled in the regular 20 overs after Williamson and Taylor got out in the 20th over, however at one time they looked threatening to India.
Also, in the super over, they scored 17 runs which initially looked too much for Indian batsmen, however, Southee conceded two sixes in the last two balls which cost them the match and the series. New Zealand now plays for the pride and look forward to winning the remaining two matches for the consolation.
Ross Taylor (253 runs in last T20I games) is the leading run-scorer followed by Martin Guptill (258 runs in 10 innings) while Mitchell Santner leads to bowling unit with 16 wickets in previous 10 games followed by Tim Southee with 8 wickets in 10 games.

India conquered the T20 series by striking at the crunch moments in the 20th and the super over of the third T20 match. The visitors already exhibited their dominance earlier, in the first two T20I games of the series. The third T20I was no less than a thriller as the match went to the super-over after Mohammed Shami struck twice in the 20th over as he was asked to defend 9 runs. First, he removed dangerous Williamson in 19.3 overs and then bowled Talyor in the last ball to take the match to the super-over. New Zealand played well in the super-over to score 17 runs while India was under tremendous pressure till the first four balls of their batting. With just 8 runs in first four balls, and 10 required in the last two, the stage was all set for Rohit the hit-man Sharma to raise up to the moment, and he exactly did what was required by smashing two sixes off the last two balls from Southee. With the series already sealed, they may do some experiments with the playing eleven in the next two games.
KL Rahul (455 runs in 10 innings, strike rate 148.69) is the top-scorer for the team, followed by Virat Kohli (333 runs in 9 innings, strike rate 165.67). Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are the key bowlers.

On the match day, the weather at Melbourne is expected to be partly cloudy. Daytime temperature can reach 21°c while night-time minimum temperature is going to dip to 17°c. It will be dry with no precipitation and cloud covering 11% of the sky, the humidity will be around 69%.
The venue for the match is Westpac Stadium, Wellington, which is an international multi-purpose stadium. It hosted the first ODI in 2000, while the first T20I game played here was in December 2006. The surface is really good for batting.
There are 11 T20 International matches played on this ground, out of which 5 times the teams batting first have won while 6 times the teams have won by chasing the targets. The last three T20I games here are won by the teams batting first. A high scoring game is expected. The team winning the toss should opt to bat first.
New Zealand put up good shows in the first and third T20 game, however, they lost poorly in the second T20I in the series. The hosts lost the first and third games despite being in a very strong position. They are doing good with the bat but lack an edge in the bowling department without Trent Boult.
India at the moment look quite formidable. They have shown their supremacy over hosts in all the departments. Recent performances in the T20 format are inclined towards the visitors.
