For England women, everything went according to plan in the opening game of the one-day series.
The visitors put in a clinical bowling performance to dismiss New Zealand women for just 178 runs in 45.1 overs.
Debutant Natasha Farrant bowled well and finished with figures of 2 for 31 in her seven overs. Left-arm orthodox spinner Sophie Ecclestone claimed two wickets, whereas Freya Davies, Natalie Sciver and Katherine Brunt claimed one wicket apiece.
Chasing 179 runs for victory, the openers Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont got the side off to good start with 42-run partnership.
Captain Heather Knight came to the crease and formed a 94-run partnership to see England inch closer towards a comfortable win. Tammy Beaumont perished in the 26th over to see England women lose their second wicket. Natalie Sciver and Heather Knight produced unbeaten partnership of 45 runs to see England women complete the chase in the 33rd over.
For England women, opener Tammy Beaumont was the star of the show with the bat. She played exceedingly well and finished the innings with the top-score of 71 runs off 86 balls with the help of 11 boundaries. Beaumont was well supported by Heather Knight, who produced a fluent 67 not out off 69 balls with the help of seven fours and one six.
Besides Beaumont and Knight, Natalie Sciver smashed 21 runs off 26 balls with help of three fours.
