After two consecutive losses in the first two games, South Africa Women bounced back to win the third match off the penultimate ball to keep their hopes alive in the 5-match series. It was a thriller of a game where South Africa Women bounced back from behind to win the game.
New Zealand Women failed to capitalize on the good start and held their nerves in the final moments of the game to lose it and surrender the initiative. It will be interesting to see if the visitors are able to maintain the same momentum in the next game. Skipper Sophie Devine would have been upset with the way her side allowed the game to slip from their hands. They wasted a good start to finish 20 runs shot of the possible score and were poor with their bowling efforts towards the final overs. She would want her side to pull up their socks and win the next take and pocket the series. Their batting looks good at the top with Rachel Priest and Devine providing good starts to the side.
Suzie Bates has also looked in good form but down the order, we haven’t seen contributions from the side. The likes of Maddy Green, Katey Martin and Lauren Down will need to push up the scoring rates in the final overs which they failed to do in the last game.
Jess Kerr bowled well in the last game but Devine went for runs in the game. The pair will have to target early wickets in the next game. Amelia Kerr was good with her bowling in the last game. The side will, however, look at Lea Tahuhu and Holly Huddleston to put the economy rate under check in the next game.
Jess Kerr, Anna Peterson, Hayley Jensen, Holly Huddleston, Lauren Down, Maddy Green, Amelia Kerr, Suzie Bates, Katey Martin, Sophie Devine, Rosemary Mair

Dane van Niekerk returned as skipper after missing out on the first two games and she led her side to an impressive victory. They held their nerves in the final stages of the game to win it. The problem for the side has been with their consistency and the skipper would want her girls to carry the same momentum into the next game.
Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee are not doing well at the top and have missed out on all the games and this is causing problems for the side. In the middle order, batters are in good form and we saw Dane van Niekerk, Chole Tryon and Mignon du Preez build partnerships and win the last game. They will expect a better show at the top and contribution from Marizanne Kapp in the next game. Their bowlers made a good comeback in the final overs of the last game but the side will need early wickets with the new ball from Masabata Klaas and Shabnim Ismail.
Ayabonga Khaka made a strong comeback in the last game after two ordinary performances. With Dane van Niekerk and Sune Luss in the bowling attack, they look in good shape ahead of the next game.

It will be clear skies in Wellington on February 09 and the conditions would be perfect for batting. We have seen several high scoring games at this venue in the recent times as the ball comes on to the bat nicely. There is early support for the bowlers as well and the side that bats first will need to eye a score of 160 runs on this surface.
The pitch at Basin Reserve, Wellington offers early assistance to the fast bowlers is but overall a good surface to bat on. While the larger dimension of the ground doesn’t allow batters to free their arms easily there are lots of opportunities for twos and threes at this venue. Spinners have also done well at this venue in the past.
The track at Wellington was a good one to bat on in the last game and we expect to see a similar surface in the next game. The side that wins the toss would look to capitalize on this opportunity by choosing to bat first and put up a big score on the board.
South Africa Women’s win in the last game has opened up the contest after it had looked like a one-sided series. The South African side hasn’t been in the best form but they will look to draw confidence from their victory in the last game.
New Zealand Women's side has shown good form so far and their batters are in good form. Playing at home on a flat surface they will start as the favorites to win this game.
