Host Pakistam aim to continue their dominance over South Africa in T20I series opener

Host Pakistan will be looking to continue their dominance in the shorter format when they take on South Africa in the opening game of the T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
The selectors have announced their T20 squad for the three-match series. All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and spinner Imad Wasim are notable absentees for the home series, whereas Fakhar Zaman and Wahab Riaz have been dropped due to their poor show in New Zealand.
On the other hand, South Africa have rested their premier players for the T20I series. Wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen will lead the side for the three-match series. Jacques Snyman, Nandre Burger, Ryan Rickelton and Okuhle Cele are four uncapped players included in South Africa T20I squad for the three-match series.

The home side will be looking to field their best combination for this T20I series. Uncapped all-rounders Danish Aziz and Amad Butt have picked for the three-match series, while Leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood is another surprise inclusion in the squad.
Pace duo of Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi will be rested for this opening encounter after bowling a lot of overs in the two-match Test series.
