Pakistan Women whitewashed Bangladesh Women in the 3-match T20 series and now the series moves to the second leg where the side would play two one day internationals. The T20 series was a one-sided affair where Bangladesh Women failed to compete in any of the games.
Pakistan Women side wasn’t in the best of form with the bat but they were still able to win the series convincingly. As the two sides take the field for the first ODI the Bangla girls are fighting against historic odds. The side has never defeated Pakistan Women on Pakistani soil and this would surely be playing in their minds. The Pakistani side having already exploited the weakness of the Bangladeshi side would go all out to win the first ODI and continue with the domination over the opponents in the series.

Pakistani skipper Bismah Maroof would now focus on dominating the Bangladesh Women team in the first ODI after having successfully whitewashed them in the T20 series. The only concern the skipper would have is about her side’s batting which hasn’t been at its best in the series so far.
At the top of the order, Nahida Khan and Sidra Ameen will look to provide the side with a good start in the game. Bismah Maroof and Javeria Khan are in good form going into this game and shall look to take on the Bangladeshi attack. Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail and Sana Mir will have to finish the innings in style towards the end. Sana Mir and Nashra Sandhu will look to start the proceedings well with the new ball. Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz have also done well in the T20s and shall look to carry the same form into the ODIs. Bismah Maroof and Omaima Sohail add strength to the bowling attack with their variety.

Rumana Ahmed has a big challenge on her hands going into the first ODI. The fact that the side has never managed to win a game on Pakistani soil would play on her minds and their poor show during the T20s adds to the headache for the skipper. She would want her girls to show some character going into this game.
At the top of the order, Ayasha Rahman and Sanjida Islam will need to provide the side with a good start. This is one area where they have failed in the series so far. Rumana Ahmed needs to anchor the innings in the company of Nigar Sultana and Fargana Hoque in the middle order. The side would also expect a good show with the bat from Shamima Sultana. The bowling attack has looked good in the series so far Jahanara Alam and Panna Ghosh being in top form. They will need to pick wickets early with the new ball for the side to get a strong start. The likes of Lata Mondal, Rumana Ahmed and Salma Khatun will need to provide good support during the middle overs.

The skies would be clear over Lahore with odd clouds. The pitch is expected to be a good one to bat on as we have seen during the T20s. With so many games having been played here this season it would slightly be on the slower side. The side that bats first will be eyeing to make 250 plus runs on this surface.
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore is a great ground for the batters where they can hit through the line. There have been several high scoring games at this venue in the last few years. Unless assisted by the weather fast bowlers have little on this surface to be happy with. Spinners do well here as the ball bounces and grips the surface.
The wicket would be a good one to bat on early in the morning as the ball isn’t expected to do much. Batting would become difficult as the game progresses and spinners use the slowing pitch to good effect. The side that wins the toss in most likelihood will bat first here.
It has been a bad tour so far for Bangladesh Women where they have let themselves down especially with the bat. The side had come to this tour riding on good form but seems to have collectively lost it. It will now test their character as they play against Pakistan. The hosts, on the other hand, have excelled in the series so far. Pakistan Women will look to carry on their good form and shall start as favorites in this game.
